This dress is very simple – I used a princess line bodice and just cut the skirt panes rectangularly (as wide as you like them). I found the dress a little too plain, so I added a border at the hem and made and detachable belt using some dark blue cotton fabric I had leftover from another dress.
The dress is fully lined with light cotton voile fabric and has net ruffle to add volume to the skirt.
Thanks for viewing it and hope you like it.

oh just so beautiful!! such clever use of fabric! this is a gorgeous pattern, but i think the sashing and trim at the bottom have just topped it. do you just love wearing a fully lined dress?

Where did you find that fabric? I have been trying to find a similar one with no success…. I live in Spain therefore, that may be it. The dress…… I do not have words…… Amazing!!!

Hola, muchas gracias. I found the fabric in a local market stall and it was the last of it’s kind… I’m not sure if you’ll find it in the shops as market sellers usually only have fabrics a few seasons old.

I LOVE this! The dress is so beautiful and you used the fabric so well. The blue details also really make it look put together, if you know what I mean. It’s lovely, and looks so professional!

Yes, the fabric itself isn’t plain, but it felt like it was missing something before. Thank you.

it has become very pretty! how wide is the belt? the folds are placed ind the side seams, or if the belt was just made just wide?

the belt back attachment is 12 cm wide (you can make it as long as you like) and the centre front is 36 cm wide and then gathered down to 12 cm to fit the back and then sewn together. Thank you for your comment. :-)
