I found this awesome free pattern on Tipnut.com (from Woman’s Day, April 1951) It was the perfect opportunity to use some vintage bias tape that I got at the thrift shop a while back. I left off the pockets and made the strings extra long so they could tie in front or back.
3/4 yard 36″ solid or printed cotton 3 1/2 yards of bias cotton skirt facing in contrasting color

I love this, the waist shaping is the style I chose for my skirts…I keep wanting to make myself a nice apron but I’d be gutted if I dropped gravy down it!
