1944 Was a Good Year for Suits

Vogue 2885, Original 1944 Design: MISSES’ JACKET AND SKIRT: Loose-fitting, lined jacket has front yoke, collar, long sleeves, front button closure, shoulder pads, shaped hemline and back pleat. Slightly flared skirt has contour waist, back pleat, hook and eye, side snap or zipper closure.
The instructions are very easy to follow, but there are quite a few extra touches that take extra time and effort (one of the main reasons I love these vintage reproductions).
I adore the lines of this suit. In fact, I cannot imagine improving the style lines one little bit! The top shaped edge of the skirt is also lovely, although it gets covered by the jacket. I see many more of these skirts in my future . . .
This outfit was finished years ago, so there are a few construction changes I would have made (for instance, the buttonholes could use a bit more polish), but I do love it!
