Description

This project is based on Sew Over It’s pattern 1940’s Tea Dress. I am a big fan of 40’s fashion and this pattern has been on my pattern stash for quite some time now. I just couldn’t decide what kind of fabric to use. However, at last I ended up using this nice and flowing viscose.

The pattern instructions were easy to follow and sewing the dress was of great fun. The hem is a bit too short to my taste but I’ll live with it :) I think a little longer hem would suite the style better. The dress is perfect for those warm summer days when one want’s to wear something chic but not too warm.

I will for sure make this pattern again. Perhaps just with a bit longer hem so it’s more ‘office appropriate’ :)

Lovely style on you.I would make it again with length longer for 40’s style, maybe to just below your knees. It is very cute to wear for daytime summer.

Thank you! I agree with you – this would be lovely with a hem just below knees. Much more 40’s style than the pattern’s original length. Good reason to make another version :)
