Description

When I wanted to make a dress which would show off this beautiful green wool crepe, I looked to the 1930’s for inspiration. Looking at vintage magazines gave me a bit of an understanding of the silhouette and the design details (and the fact that you don’t have to have shoulder pads).
Then, I drafted this pattern: raglan sleeves which form a yoke at the back, cowl neckline with pleats in satin, slim skirt with flared inserts.

More pictures and the full story (and, if you take a look at the older post, the entire process) at “my blog”: http://petitmainsauvage.blogspot.nl/2013/12/finally-that-30s-dress.html

This is gorgeous on you and what a great interesting read your blog was. I love finding out new sewing and fashion facts so the shoulder pad piece intrigued me. Just fabulous lauriana x
