Hats: you can never have too many or enough! It being winter here and me being sick at home, I’ve been engaging in a bit of “light crochet”. I decided that I really don’t have an adequate supply of stylish winter hats, that are both functional (i.e. keep my cranium warm) and glamorous. Here is my answer to this little dilemma.
I based this hat on a 1930’s crochet pattern. The pattern required the use of gimp cord. However, I decided to use a beautifully dyed thin gauge wool that I had lying around instead. I had to alter the pattern quite a bit to make it work, but am very pleased with the results! The brim has been tacked in place and a feather added to resemble a Robin Hood style cap.
