These poacket hoops make the 18th century gown stand out at the sides. You can also hide stuff in them! The pattern was taken from another set that came from The Royal Opera House.
The pocket hoops are made out of polycotton sheeting with cotton twill tape casings and 5/8" heavy duty steel boning for the hoops. They have a base and an access slit so they can be used like giant pockets.

Again, these are incredible and display your talents to their zenith! I love the grace and modesty of those times – sorely lacking in these days of people out in public in tracksuits, (I have no beef with them being worn at home – but in public? Not so elegant . . . ) and low-slung jeans showing nude “muffin tops” (at the least) spilling over the sides! Sure, back then they showed lovely décolletage – but at least it was elegant!

I took historic costume this past semester and have always giggled at the fashions that were oh-so a la mode back when. We tend to diminish our hips these days…but we do a lot worse in other areas! :/ I like the whole outfit, I can’t wait to see the whole ensemble!

Some of the gowns from this time period are completely bonkers! But lots of fun… Still lots to do.
