Stitch shoulder seams (seam number 1). Press seam allowances onto back. Cut pre-pressed bias tape apart along centre – it is then 1 cm (3/8 in) wide when folded double. Unfold bias tape and pin to edge of seam allowance. Stitch 5 mm (3/16 in) from edge. Then fold bias tape over allowance edge and pin in place, without turning edge under. Work from upper side to stitch binding close to joining seam, thereby catching opposite edge.
