Step 2 Cutting out

Note: Place the paper pattern piece for the front on the fabric, with the front edge on the side edge of the ­sequinned surface. Cut the 3 cm (11/4 in) wide allowance on the front edge from plain edge of the fabric. Also cut the facing strips a, b, and c from the plain edge of the fabric.

2 back, on a fold 1x
3 sleeve 2x
a) facing strip for neck edge, 58 – 59 – 60 – 61 – 62 cm (23 – 231/4 – 233/4 – 24 – 241/2 ins) long, 5 cm (2 ins) wide ­(incl. allowances),
b) facing strip for lower edge, 116 – 120 – 126 – 132 – 138 cm (453/4 – 471/4 – 493/4 – 52 – 541/2 ins) long, 5 cm (2 ins) wide (incl. allowances),
c) 2 facing strips for lower sleeve edges, 34 – 34 – 35 – 35 – 36 cm (131/2 – 131/2 – 133/4 – 133/4 – 141/4 ins) long, 5 cm (2 ins) wide (incl. allowances).
Interfacing: Iron strips of interfacing, approx. 1 cm (3/8 in) wide, to wrong side of front shoulder seam edges and to wrong side of neck and armhole edges so that strips lie on garment piece, 2 mm (a scant 1/8 in) past seam lines.
