Turns out the rumors are true, silk is really slippery! I was having trouble cutting out a dress pattern, so I opted to make a simple half circle skirt with this silk fabric instead. It was a breeze to sew up, but I fear it’s rather boring. Any suggestions? I’m thinking a shorter hem might be more appropriate…

The skirt is nice how it is, under the knee is allways flattering. And I agree with SallieOh, with a matching top it would be great!

I love this skirt just the way it is! A few inches up if you like, but not too much. I do agree with sallieOh – a rich-toned blouse and I think some pretty dainty silver jewelry to go with it, and you’ll look gorgeous! I would even stop you in the street to compliment your style!

I do vote for shorter, although it’s pretty as is. Just above the knee.

i like it! keep the length – its so ladylike! maybe you could make a coordinating blouse in one of those rich jewel tones that are in the butterfly print to go with it…

Thank you for your input!! I think you are right, a colored top would really help, and maybe some accessories, and it won’t be so boring ;)
