Lay the rectangular facing pieces of lining fabric on right side of fabric, over the seam lines on the side pieces which form a point, and pin in place – these pieces should extend 2 cm (3/4 in) past the point ends. Stitch along the seam lines which form a point. Slash between lines of stitching and clip up to points. Turn the facing pieces to the inside. At each front seam, press the facing toward the back and at each back seam, toward the front. Pin each insert piece right sides together with front seam edge, from seam number 2, matching seam lines. At the point, the lining strip serves as seam allowance. Stitch. Then stitch back edge of insert piece to back seam edge. Press seams open – at upper end, press allowances onto side piece.
Trousers, blazers, and blouses in cool neutrals have model-off-duty style.
