Fold pleat in front skirt panel in arrow direction, and pin to upper edge. Trim away seam allowances on open edges of pleats, from upper edge of skirt to corner. Stitch open edges of pleat together, 7 mm (1/4 in) from edges, and neaten together. Baste top of pleat in place. For the pleat which lies on top, fold front skirt panel on pleat fold line, with wrong side facing in, placing fold at abutting line, and pin in place. Baste pleat to upper edge of skirt panel.
