As for the zipper onto jersey, an old lady told me to add a layer of sticky take or to hand sew a thin strip of light paper to prevent to jersey to wobble. You just have to sew the paper-jersey sandwich to the zipper. The paper should be easy to remove once the two parts are sewed. I need to try! Hope it helps…

love this but am making it and the zipper is a nightmare!!! there are no instructions or tips on how to get a zipper into jersey without it going all wibbly wolbbly!!! augh! and im not a novice! I have done it with a zig zag stitch, a straight one, with interfacing, without. im giving up and doing it without the zipper at all.. ill save the zipper for a non stretch fabric skirt…… unless anyone is a jersey zip genius?

I’ve done a narrow band of twill tape along the seam allowance of a stretch twill before to keep it neat. I’m not sure it would work with jersey, especially if it’s thinner. Maybe try it on a swatch?
I honestly think it would be just as cute without the zipper as well.
Good luck!

If it’s jersey and stretches I would skip the zipper. I know how hard it is just to sew on jersey sometimes. I would not even attempt to put a zipper on jersey. You poor thing-that’s a nightmare alright. I have been there too many times hehe.Anyway’s just thinking- you may be able to omit the zipper and just continue the seam. The waistband does/can have a button and I bet it will stretch enough to pull on.
