On each front, cut dart between marked lines, up to about 1.5 cm (5/8 in) before point. Fold welts lengthwise, right fabric side facing in. Stitch across ends. Turn welts right side out and press. Topstitch welts close to edges and 7 mm (1/4 in) from edges. Stitch each welt to front dart line, from marking to marking, so that welt points toward front. Stitch fabric pocket pieces to side dart lines, opposite welts, so that pocket pieces point toward the side. Turn seam allowances of pocket pieces back and pin to ends of pocket openings. Stitch darts above top marking and below bottom marking. Remove pins. Pull pocket pieces to inside. Trim dart allowances to 1 cm (3/8 in) wide and press open, pressing points of darts flat. Press welts over pocket openings. Stitch pocket lining pieces to seam allowances of welt ¬joining seams and press forward. Trim pocket pieces even and stitch together. Stitch narrow edges of welts in place, along lines of previous stitching.
