Burda Style For people who sew

Stitch pocket lining pieces to self-facings of pockets, leaving about 5 cm (2 ins) open in centre of seam, for turning. Turn facings and lining to outside and stitch to side and lower edges of pockets. Turn pockets right side out. Sew seam open¬ings closed. Edgestitch pockets to fronts, at abutting lines, then stitch again 7 mm (1/4 in) from edges. Stitch each interfaced flap piece to flap piece with no interfacing, along outer edges, right sides facing. Turn right side out. Topstitch flaps close to seamed edges. Stitch flaps in place, 1.5 cm (5/8 in) above pockets. Press flaps down and stitch again, 5 mm (3/16 in) from joining seam.
