I started this dress back in January of last year, when this Burda issue first came out.
I had been in a sewing slump for quite a while and was looking for projects that were quick to sew and complete. This project should have taken two, three days tops. This two piece pattern fit the bill.
The pattern is awesome, but with curved seams meeting in the front, matching those plaids was not happening.
I sewed a straight size 38, based on my measurements. I could have gone a size down, as it is a bit wide in the neck.
I chose not to make the belt.
Then a heat wave happened, and it was too hot to even think about finishing a wool dress. So in to the UFO pile it went.
So I finally finished it a few weeks ago and have been wearing it to work. All in all, I like the dress a lot because it makes me feel like a fancy lady but feels like a tshirt.
