Here is my first dress. I sewed it for my girlfriend (pictured). We found a dress we liked online and I set out to make it for her. I used a dress, which my girlfriend had, to get the general shape and dimensions. The dress had a simpler bodice and a skirt without pleats. I added the gathering in the front of the bodice and the pleats to the skirt. It is lined with a lining fabric.
After finishing my coat this dress was a breeze; the zipper was the trickiest part.

Wait – you SEWED a dress for your girlfriend.
First of all, you just won Boyfriend Of The Month, and you’re automatically in the finals for Boyfriend of the Year.
Second, the dress is adorable, fits really well, I hope she wears it every day.
Completely awesome. Keep sewing. Send more photos!
