I had some suiting material lying around. So I thought I would make another vest. I adjusted my self-drawn pattern a little, but it is basically the same.
The vest is tailored long. I did this for two reasons. First I have a long torso. Second, most of my pants are “low” cut. Most vest patterns are designed for high-waisted trousers that few modern men would ever wear.
Brown wool suiting and brown poly lining.

Oh this looks great! and good point about most being cut too short – i find that problem with ready to wear a lot!

nice to see another sewing guy here :-) nice pice of work! allow me a suggestion for an ajustment of the pattern: as far as I can see are the front darts too far to the side. they should be in one line with your nipples and have to end about 2 cm onder them. If you do so you get a better molding of your chest. Maybe you can lower the neckline just a little to provide the wrinkles at the sholder. but as I said, just a suggestion, it’s a very nice waistcoat!!!
