This shirt was inspired by verypurpleperson’s “Shirt with band collar”. Thanks for the inspiration ‘purple’. This shirt has me really excited about designing and having clothes that I have made for myself.
Linen and a button.

no pattern used – I measured the dimensions of one of my shirts and copied the style from purple’s shirt.

I like it very much. This style of band collars is very masculine, and it suits you very much:) Like the overall look:)

Great Shirt! glad to see you are expanding the notion of style for men

This style is perfect for warmer weather and it suits you. I look forward to your next design. It’s true that men’s fashion options are pretty restricted. Australia is the same – unless you live in a big city and you know where the hip clothes stores are, there isn’t much variety.

Men’s “fashion” in everyday-American life is boring. I can wear a t-shirt, a hooded sweatshirt, or a dress shirt (and then mix it up with a sweater). My point is this: There are so few style-options that are excepted or widely used by men (at least men in the Midwest US). We have such boring clothes. Men need to take advantage of other cultures clothes. One of my friends recently bought a linen shirt from a Cuban store in Grand Rapids – it had a collar similar to this shirt, simple and refreshingly different.

Ah!Collars, a lot of things can be said about collars and ways of closing garments. Wouldn’t it be great to have a pattern encyclopedia just for collars? Have you ever had the chance to go through the tayloring archives of your grandfather?
Great shirt, I’ll make myself one with long sleeves!
