I made this lovely below floral dress based on the Jamie Shift dress from the BurdaStyle Sewing Vintage Modern book. I paired it with this curve hugging pencil skirt (based on Princess Seam Pencil Skirt 04/2012 #118). I love how the contrasting colors and fabrics compliment one another.
To make the dress I:
+altered the neckline (slashed and spread one side to create gathers and cut out keyholes on the other side)
+removed the darts
+removed the back seem
+added cap sleeves
I love that the dress can be worn as a dress or a blouse!

I made the dress out of a delicate silk chiffon and the skirt is a warm, flannel wool.

Beautiful colors and great design. Also love the idea that you can put the skirt over and have the dress look like a blouse.

The blouse is fantastic! I absolutely love the neckline, as well as the colors, especially with the skirt. Beautiful work on a difficult fabric!
