Hello dear Miss-G, thanks for letting me know about the post! Actually I have read it very soon after it was posted, and I have to mention that Elaine is a real good person who never attacks her nemesis without warning. I enjoyed it very much! Thanks for your nice comment on it, too! – yoshimi

Hi! Thank you for the feedback! I do see your points with the casual appearance of Kasia compared to Jenny. So what I did when I made my Kasia, was to skip the pockets and the flap, and put the zipper in the back. And I like the shape very much. I see you’ve made some Kasias, and I wonder: Have you made it without stretch fabrics? If so, what’s that like wearing/walking/fit? And how would you compare that to Jenny – not thinking of the hidden zipper problem, but only thinking how it’s to wear?
Jan 30, 2010, 10.21 PMby yoshimi
Oh you moved the zipper. Well done and I think you’ve done so right with it. About my Kasias… I’ve made two Kasias so far and both were made of non-stretch fabrics. They are comfortable as Jenny is even in non-stretch fabrics, I can’t say which is better than others. However, I have a good impression with the waistband of Jenny because it stays better than Kasia’s as its grain is bias and it therefore has some kickback(I hope you understand what I mean, sorry for my funny English) . Hmmm, comparing Kasia and Jenny makes me feel to try Kasia again. You remind me she’s so gorgeous! Design wise, Kasia is certainly more distinguishing and prettier. Thanks you, frk.bustad!

YOU ARE MY HERO! I was going to spend a fortune on lace fingerless gloves for a halloween costume and a quick search on here and I found your pattern for fingerless gloves. THANK YOU! You’ve saved me so much moolah. I appreciate you putting that on here for free.

Hello giffengood,
Thanks for your message! I am delighted to hear that you like my long sleeved JJ. What I did for it was looking for the pattern piece for a sleeve from just a common shirt. I didn’t draft the pattern, as long as I remember… At that time, I had 3 sets of patterns for normal shirts. I am sorry to say but I don’t remember which sleeve I used for the JJ. I don’t think it’s OK to share the pattern that is commercial either, anyway. I think it’s the easiest way for you to find a normal shirt (e.g. Emily from BurdaStyle, note that Emily’s sleeve is very long and looks unique, but the armhole looks quite simple.) and measure the length of both an armhole on bodice and one on sleeve. If the length of the one on sleeve was slightly (let’s say, 0~4/5 inch) longer than the one on bodice, it seems OK for me to attach them together, with putting the ease concentrating to the upper half of the shoulder. If you don’t think the armhole on the JJ bodice is longer than your sleeve pattern’s, you might need to look for another pattern for your sleeve. I hope it helps! Good luck with your JJ and happy sewing! -yoshimi

I need a correction!
The sentence “If you don’t think the armhole on the JJ bodice is longer than your sleeve pattern’s, you might need to look for another pattern for your sleeve.” is wrong! Of course, it should be “If you think the armhole on the JJ bodice is longer than your sleeve pattern’s, you might need to look for another pattern for your sleeve.”

Nope, I have not found parasol (or umbrella) frame kits in the US and my Japanese is limited to origami directions like valley or mountain fold. I may just purchase a really ugly umbrella just so I can recover it. The parasols you made look really nice and I love the fabric choice. Have fun and keep sewing!

Thanks for the link, I think I´m going to search the internet for a european distributor. Were the parasols difficult to make?

Carolyn! I’ve touched the inappropriate button by mistake! I don’t know why it’s been placed here just next to the reply button… I’m very very sorry but I just wanted to type “I’m looking forward to meeting you in Tokyo”!!
