You’re very welcome! My Huntsville is not in Ontario, however. It’s in the US, in AL. I’ve only been to Toronto in Canada, actually. I go up to Seattle, WA quite a bit, though, and I always mean to make it up there on that side. Perhaps next time – I hear it’s lovely! Cheers!

Hi there, I hope you no longer consider yourself a novice. I am in Abbotsford BC but have a lot of family on the island. I am what you might call a born again sewing enthusiast. Last fall I attended the Sewing and Craft events in Puyallup WA. Victoria and Abbotsford and was so inspired I bought a new Janome to replace my 40 year old Bernina and then I really went to town and bought a baby lock. So far I haven’t used either of them. Thats what happens when you buy quality in the first place. I’ve just done a replacement duct tape dummy as my old one was too fat. Now I am trying to construct my first pair of pants in decades and making a lot of goofy mistakes. I only remember what to do after I’ve done something badly. You look young enough to be able to wear some of the quickie tops and bottoms I used to make for myself. I’d love to share. I don’t have any sew mates in my family and I haven’t connected to anyone else who is a sewing nut like me. A collector of fabrics (AKA as a “stash”) is what I do best. Most projects in the last few years have been draperies and bedding. I do have the prerequisite sewing nut skills of leaping before I look, planning after the fact and a real talent with my seam ripper. If you haven’t put a club together yet on the island I just wanted you to know I’m here for an encouraging word if you need it.
