I know, me too! I need to move somewhere warmer for winters. Really do not enjoy cold weather!

I found tons of vintage patterns at an estate sale! Sharing the wealth on my blog. I just can’t do the 80’s AGAIN!!! LOL I haven’t even gotten to the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s yet! Dusty, musty, they came from an older lady’s backroom.

ahh wow. your pieces are amazing! i’m adoring the ‘’floating flowers’’ scarf – inspiring, how long did that take you!? x

Thank you so much! I love hearing that. :) Not horribly long, I cut out the flowers and vines sitting in front of the TV a few nights, it only took about an hour to construct everything and do the top stitching.

I just discovered your creations and I’m already in love! They are so romantic and inspirating! It seems also you have a very beautiful house :)

Thank you! :) It’s certainly nice to hear that. It’s always so nice to be appreciated by others that create.

Tell me about it. I’m up to my knees in rain and mud! I just want to crawl under the covers and go back to sleep. LOL

So, sorry. Just mrked your comment as innapropriate when I wanted to reply. I am SUCH a spoon!!
I was just going to add that it is so hard to do. I find it impossible to clear out anything made of fabric. I always think that I can make it into something and yet never do. I have MOUNTAINS of stuff to get rid off. You would think that it was surgically attached, it is so painful. Especially the vintage stuff.
I think that I should finally just come out with it “Hi, my name is Kelly and I’m an addict”. Remember… one day at a time :) LOL

LOL It’s ok, I am so often inappropriate! ;) I know the feeling, I actually started a blog about why I’m having such a hard time letting go! It’s actually getting easier. I’m discovering what I really want or need along the way. Road to self discovery!

I know the feeling. I had 3 days off, snowed in at home and did nada! Good luck with the sewing xx

I know! What is it about being trapped that makes me NOT want to do anything??? Yeesh. I did clean out my closet yesterday. Brutally. Put some vintage items on Ebay, so I"m moving along!

I don’t really paint anything in particular- although nothing with people, usually just shading and blending. I’ll post something soon! Thanks for being brave enough to off-post!

Hey, I have a question… How do you sell your stuff?
Nov 23, 2009, 09.28 PMby tallykay
Wow! you reall have your own style. I like it! All of your work looks very professional. It looks like the kind of clothing that you would see in a store that i know of that is close by to my house. Very nice…5 stars!

Now that’s a store I’d like to visit!

HI, I am glueing tiny little Swarovski crystals to the lace applique on my latest corset. It is mind-bogglingly fiddly for someone as blind as me, even with my specs on. Still it is way better that the ones with the metal backs or , god-forbid, the hot-fix ones :) Happy sewing, Kelly xx

the ones I grabbed are junior’s 70’s sundresses and they are tiny!!!! who has a 30" and a 24" waist?! She has two large storage tubs full of patterns, when I look through them some more I’ll keep an eye out for you

The etsy store is slowly coming along, I have a whole five items up! I was super busy with the cloaks I was making and at the end I was so burnt out I took a few days away from the sewing room. The cloaks were really fun to make though. I don’t have pictures since as soon as I was finished I needed to deliver them to the client, but I hope to get some soon, before the boys start to really get some wear into them. I think I will make a few grown-up versions to sell since they are pretty flexible size-wise.
The holidays sure are sneaking up fast! There’s not enough hours in the day…

I’m so glad I’m not the only one having issues with the whole “alchemy” thing on Etsy…they should have a section just for “examples of things that can be made to order.” I agree also that it’s hard to set it all up and everything when you have a full time job, at the end of the day the last thing I want to do is spend any more time on a computer, so it comes down to the weekend, when I would rather be making stuff! We need personal assistants I think…and I need a faster connection speed! Uploading pictures can be pretty painful when you live in rural Idaho and the connection goes in and out. sigh so hard being a creative soul ;)
Hope you’re having a good weekend!
Oct 25, 2009, 03.16 PMby thewiltedmagnolia
LOL Wouldn’t be so bad to be a creative soul if I didn’t have to work full time too! ;) We have the same issues there.
I usually just list my garments and they can pick from available fabrics until I get caught up. Then I make something new and start over! The problem is I’m not getting caught up! Wait…is that a problem??? Hmmm..We REALLY need elves! I’ve got three orders on the white robe in my Etsy shop, so those have to be completed before I can make one out of velvet to re-list.
So I only feel like I’m half production and half creating. A decent balance for me.
If I didn’t have high speed internet, I would be crazy! You have my sympathy. LOL

thank you for enjoying my work :) your garments are very lovely too!

Thank you so much! Exactly the look I was going for! It’s one of my pieces! Silk organza with hand dyed antique trim and vintage button.

I’m just FLIPPING OUT over that black jacket w/red trim on the collar. Is that your creation or an inspiration? It looks like an antique and is heartbreakingly beautiful.
