I totally agree with you about the lack of closet space! I have the same problem! thank you for the great braided top pattern – it’s stunning, I can’t wait until my 10 month old daughter gives me a moment to sew on the weekends :-)

Hi there, I love this braided top, i wondered if it would be an easy enough thing to add extra length to this pattern to make a light summer dress? What are your thought….i am a complete novice i must confess!

Hi cheboo
Actually adding some extra length to make a dress should work just fine. I did make a tunic length version of this top and the width of the hem was wide enough to fit over my hips. The tunic had 3 additional inches of length so you’d want to add a few more than that.
You could either extend the side seam straight down or extend it at a slight angle so that the dress becomes a wider A line shape. If you have any other questions please feel free to ask. :)

Hi, There is a new download from “Manequim.abril” for Capri pants. Thought you might like to check this out. Cordially, Nehmah

thanks for your comment! i definitely think the ute top has the potential to look frumpy. i’m glad that i went with the rayon, as i think gives the top a little extra flash. also, i made the neck tie about half as thin as the pattern called for—i was out of fabric, but i actually think it gave the top a sleeker look. if i could make it over again i would have chosen a stretchier fabric, so i wouldn’t be a afraid to make it tighter… that always helps cut down on frumpiness. give it another try! i’ll keep an eye out for your creation ;)

Thanks for your comment on my watercolor halter. I really like your braided neckline halter. I’ve been wanting to try something like that.
