Hello Prutsprinses!:) I haven’t heard from you for long time, and also you haven’t heard fro me… SO many things to do, lot of work, second year of my English studies is really hard. And as well as you I haven’t time for prutsing anymore:( As to my wardrobe, I sewed a lot of new thing during holidays and october, but, well, to be frank I don’t wear some of them. You know how it is, you sewed a great piece, but when you wore it you aren’t confident to go out… And unfortunately, I haven’t got high esteem… And I live in quite small city, in which people look down on the well-dressed. And it’s difficult for me to wear for example my little blue dress, because I know that everyone will be looking at me, and at THAT colour, and I will be the the most imteresting ‘thing’ on the streets:( I hope you know what I mean. Maybe one day I will stop fussing about and get confident enough to dress how I like:) I saw your post that you were in NY!!! Great! Tell me, how it was there, did you enjoy it? Did you buy some interesting patterns or fabrics? BTW your studies it’s really great that you’re applying to foreign universities! What are you going to study there? I would like to study in England, at some good enuversity, there are a lot of them… But know it’s only a dream or plan, we will se in the future how it come out:) Is economics hard to study?? I like maths in college, but now I’m studing humanities:) I hope you are getting around:) So, tell me everything when you find little time for me:) Happy sewing! Hugs:)

Hey PrutsPrinse! Thanks for the kind words on my daughters belly dance costume! Fortunately they are getting to use them for more than one occasion and have won a couple of best dance costume awards along with their dancing awards. I have made many of their dance costumes for competitions and it is such a thrill to see your own work sparkle on stage and to see the dancers confidence in them. Also, I had posted this on the old site some time ago and it wasn’t in my studio on here so I thought I would give the uploading a project a try with this one. Your comment is very appreciated!

Hello chello!:] Sorry, I know I’m answering late, but I was so busy: exams, parties and already holidays:D And unfortunately I have to retake axam of English History….wrr I don’t like it, really. And I wish you good exams and good paper, hope you’ll manage! Hmm maybe I’ll post my version of chaos and you’ll see that my pronounciation is not the best..:] but not bad,I think:D I really liked the music you sang:] And you should be proud of yourself that you took a part in raising money! Ohhh I know exactly what is ‘pruts’ hehe… Now I’m prutsing… on burdastyle while I should tidy up my bedroom;] And I should admit that I do it all the time…:P I’m so proud you liked my creations. Thanks very much:] And this site is really intresting, but i have to think about it, cus I’m still buying/most from second hands but a part from ‘normal’ shops/ I know I should take a before photo, but I’m so excited when I get the idea that I start to sew immediately:D and during the sewing i realise what I should have done before… But I try to remember this:D Thanks for your best wishes, it would be helpful when I’ll be retaking my English History in Semtember! And all the best for you during your paper and happy sewing when you find time for it:D And don’t pruts instead of learning!:]

Hi again! No, it doen’t change any seams; all it does is to make the neckline tighter since what you do is effectively to make it a bit shorter. (I mean the how-to “Make deep necklines tighter”). I don’t think it’s possible to adjust after sewing, since the dart is in the middle of the front section of the garment, but I guess you could remove a bit of material from the front piece at the shoulder-seam… otherwise you end up with an extra seam across the front. Might be possible to work something out of that seam though…

Hello, It’s Nehmah. Here is the link (I hope) to the dictionary with Portuguese terms. http://manequim.abril.com.br/moda/dicionario-da-moda/ If it doesn’t work, it is my typing, not their site. Cordially, Nehmah

I made a How-to on how to avoid gaping necklines a while ago, it’d work perfectly on wrap-dresses and tops. Check it out ;-)!

Awww, thanks! I really do miss the BurdaStyle community. I have gotten a lot healthier, but I’m not quite 100%. I only have a few more days left until I graduate from high school, so I know once I am free and get that motivation to sew there will be no stopping me! Also, I got my first job working at a greenhouse, so time might be a bit of a problem. Thank you so much for showing your support, it means a lot to me :) ~Hillary

hello!:] Sorry,I have the same problem, no time, and more and more exams… It’ll be hard this term. My english pronounciation is getting better and better, after a year’s classes:D And I learn [of course!] British English! It’s more elegant and i like the way native speak. Oh and how is your the best of concert? I liked very much the music from video you sent me! It’s so emotional and great. In what language did you sing, latin? WHen you came to Poland you may eat skwarki, but be careful…for me it’s not very tasty;P About pruts: it is doing something instead of doing sth you should, study for example? Hmm… it’s being lazy! And tinker my dictionary says is ‘trying to repair or improve sth without having proper skills or knowledge’. Hmm it’s hard to understand, but I think ‘pruts’ is being lazy and doing nothing, looking out of the window, instead of concentrating and studying, it is this? If yes, i often pruts:D I wish you good luck with master paper;] My sewing is now a way of relaxing and taking my mind off studies;] So i’m sewing a lot but don’t have proper camera to take good photos. Keep on sewing, greetings:D

Hi;] It’s not dobrzy den, it’s dzien dobry, it means good morning:D Borat was so funny when he was saying ‘jak sie masz’ with his way of pronouncing it to his fellows:D You must see it:D It’s great that you know Polish from your friends:D I’m surprised: Polish is quite popular:D English is great for studing! I really enjoy all the classes especially classes of phonetics and pronounciation: we learn how to pronounce all these hard English words with English accent. And on my descriptive grammar classes we are making transcriptions of English texts. Now we are transcribing cool poem of Gerard Nolst TrenitĂ© ‘Chaos’ which ‘illustrates many of the irregularities of English spelling (orthography) and pronunciation’ I’m sure you’ll have fun trying to read it correctly:D See also this great girl which can pronounce almost all words correctly : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F1spqX4sIDo I like listening to her! I’m sure your choir made it better. I’ve just heard it, it’s a kind of very classical music! I’ll show you some songs, listen if you have little time:] I was singing them in my childhood on my music lessons, but they are more folk and cherry:D ‘Przybyli ulani pod okienko’ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lpBhBxazKmg&feature=related , ‘Hej, hej ulani malowane dzieci’ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QGJprWPh3AM , ‘szla dzieweczka’ Polish choir Mazowsze http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MY8c_aql37o&feature=related , ‘Marusia’ sang by Maryla Rodowicz, from Polish very popular film “Czterej pancerni i pies” http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6BtgPaebd4&feature=related , ‘Czerwone jabluszko’ ‘red apple’ http://w127.wrzuta.pl/audio/7YGA2EclusM/wojskowe_-_czerwonejabluszko ,

Wisla song is great, but it’s impossible to find another version, only tese children which you’ve heard;] But it’s OK. So now, ‘skwarki issue’ :D I was looking via the Internet and i found some useful info:D So here you are [I copied some from vikipedia]: 1.kasza gryczana ze skwarkami – buckwheat cereal with chopped, fried lard and onions 2.A by-product of dry-rendering lard is deep-fried meat, skin and membrane tissue known as cracklings: and cracklings is probably skwarki:D 3.So it’s similar to what you found:D Skwarki as meal isn’t very ‘nice’ for me, I’m disgusted when I see it, but unfortunately my surname is connected with this, and my nickname ‘skwarynia’ is a variation of feminine version of skwarek [skwarek is a one, singular, one of skwarki] And I like skwarynia, so I use it, and all my friends call me skwarynia or skwarek:D How about your nickname? Prinses is princess in English? What about Pruts? I hope it isn’t so complicated as mine;]

I’m sorry for this looong message… Today I like writing and talking:D chatterbox:D And I’ve already added new creation: safari tuxedo top:D So LBD must wait! So, enjoy it, and milego dnia:D

Hehe bardzo dobrze! Very good Polish! ‘Jak sie masz? Dobrze!’ Do you know it from Borat??:] Oh it’s great you studied Slavic languages! Polish is similar to them.NOw I’m studying English Philology, and it’s my firt year:] I knew French, that’s my second language in scholl [ before, it has been for nearly 6 years;] Hmm I must say that I didn’t knew this song before! Maybe because it’s sometning like a folk song. Do you know: Plynie Wisla plynie po polskiej krainie, zobaczyla Krakow pewnie go nie minie…? It’s more popular song about Wisla river:D Hahaha it’s not a pork that was itchy and then someone came to scratch him. Hehehe funny:D Pork scratching was an outcome from e dictionary. S’il s’agit de pork scratches, je ne sais pas s’il est bien, c’est une traduction d’un dictionaire. J’ai trouve un equivalent de ‘skwarki’ en francais:c’est lardon frit. Peut etre tu sais lardon frit? Je ne sais pas comment t’expliquer skwarki…;] Hmm… skwarki are a part of meal, added to dumplings! It’s popular in Slavic countries. Well and that’s what I called ‘bariera jezykowa’ that’s language barrier:D Little Black Dress: i don’t have it too.. but i’m going to have!:D So bye, trzymaj sie i milego dnia!:D

Hello!:] I see that you know some words in Polish:D and I can speak French:D My nickname is a abbreviated form of my surname, wkich is Skwara: so skwarynia. And ‘skwarek’ in Polish means some kind of pork scratching [gribenes] which are added to dumplings:D But personally i don’t like scratching… Maxidress is a great idea! Or little black dress:D If i find suitable material I’ll make it too. And I’m waiting for your outcome! Thank you much, have a nice day:] Greets Skwarynia:D

Hello PrutsPrinses!;] I would help You with pleasure:D So, Ad. 1 I added the straps to put the top in place, and put them right there, where are the straps from my bra: they fit perfectly, and what’s more they hide bra straps:] So it’s more elegant, Ad. 2 At first I made it according to my measurements, and when I wear it, I decided to narrow it a bit to look better. And you may do the same, it’s safer working with bigger amount of fabric, and You may narrow or let it as you like. And You should remember: make the part under the bust the most fit, to sew it with bust part easily. Lower part may be loose as You like. My tea top is all fit:D I hope I could help You, and I’m waiting for your version and photos! Greets!:D

Hi! Thank you for your comment on the Cape Hatteras dress. :) The built-in bra is just a simple shelf bra: an extra layer of the same fabric that the dress is made of with an elastic band around the bottom. Sort of like a sports bra. I’ve added soft cups to the same structure as well—it’s super easy! Good luck with your projects!
