  Hello. I’ve added you to my friends, hope you don’t mind. Partly because I’m a musician too, but mostly because you have a similar body shape to me so I’ll be stealing your ideas! I’d love to be able to fit my own clothes but am scared of venturing into that! It’s daunting. But I can rarely find dresses, skirts and trousers that fit me due to a small waist and big hips, so sewing my own is the obvious answer. Anyway, I like your projects.

    Oh, I don’t mind at all! I have to admit that the fitting challenges are a huge part of why I sew—it’s just so hard to find things at the stores that I’m satisfied with how they fit, let alone the styles. Don’t be afraid to play around with it—I’ve kind of gotten into the habit of doing things like basting things first (especially skirts and pants) to check the fit before sewing for real. More time-consuming, but easier to rip out!

    Do you sing or play an instrument? And if so, what?

    Yes I play violin and piano, classically and academically trained but now teaching in a rough inner city comprehensive!

  Hi Sunnyb64. I finally found a time to thank you for nice comments concerning my wedding dress. I like that we used the same pattern, it means that you liked it too. This dress was very important for me, especially because the fabric was very expensive. I was afraid that I would make a mistake and I had to buy more fabric for it. I was very happy about the results and about adding of the jacket, because it was cold that day.

  Sunny, If you want some MOP shank buttons, I can send, no cost or postage charge to you, two sets in white. They can be dyed. I literally cannot live long enough to use up all of my buttons! Nehmah
