OH you must share some of those vintage sewing patterns with us. I would be really grateful.

Oh I’m so glad you like them too! I bought the sewing pattern for my Red Vixen Dress on Etsy, one of the best places to buy vintage sewing patterns. I’ve also found some in thrift markets and estate sales and such. You just have to hunt for the best ones and snatch them up when you see them.

Ive found a few in thrift stores. Its hard to find your exact size though and I haven’t yet learned how to grade down patterns. Its on my to-do list.

My ironing board is in serious need of re-covering, too! Let’s not talk about my iron….

Mine was AWFUL! Not to mention, I was just going to go and buy a new cover. Ummm…need I say all the ones I looked at were total garbage. Awful, awful. I am going to post a tutorial very soon on how to make your own. A fairly easy project! My iron is horrible too! Oh dear. What a to do!

I think you are a very pretty person. Your hair color and eyes… combined with lila nuances – perfect fit. I wish you all the best, especially in the creative domain of your life. Greetings from Croatia, NK

Thank you so much for your kind comments! I was a bit worried that the dress made my already…shall we say, generous!… bust look even bigger, but I still love the pattern. I had to go a size smaller than normal; I made a dress from this pattern before and it was a bit big. But, once again, thanks!

I had a wedding dress made for me- the prototype was shorter and made a cute summer dress and it was admired left right and center! I had a feeling the purple one you made would be too! Unusual and colourful dresses are really liked becasue lets face it- the shops lack imagination in these things!
And I really agree with you on the selfish sewing- I have blisters on my fingers from the panic quilt I had to finish… NEVER again!!
Love your dresses!

Oh thank you! I really feel your pain with the finger blisters. I stitched some aprons for some gifts and yes I agree, NEVER again!
I agree too with shops lacking imagination. Sometimes I see things I really like and then think, I could definitely do better than this. Isn’t it just fun to start creating something and then keep adding things? I like that process.

Thank you very much for your lovely comment on my balloon skirt! I think the fabric is beautiful too. There are some great fabric stores in Tokyo, where you can buy such fabrics, I bought this one at one of the internet fabric shops in Japan (sounds weird but they don’t accept international delivery.. I suppose) though. Please let me know when you travel in Japan, and I’ll tell you where to go!
