Thanks! I have a long way to go, but someday I will be the proud creator of some romper that looks like it came from American Apparel or some other overpriced clothing store. Have you come across any patterns or creations like that? So far I have been searching all over and haven’t seen any one that was close!

Thanks for your comment on my modified Esther. Your things are so fancy! Tre bien! My modifications were really just guess work and the collar really doesn’t fold over right. I made a sketch of what I wanted and I made a tiny one out of a scrap of fabric… On the first page of the pattern with the small diagrams of the pattern layout I sketched the body of the Esther (no strip for the collar and no sleeve cuffs), I made a rough estimate of the patterned collar size and drew that out from the body, along with my desired point. I also added a couple inches to the bottom back to allow hemming. The lining I figured out on my own too… Really it’s three pieces, the outside body, the inside lining and a piece for the inside (folded out collar)… I’m sorry I can’t explain it better, like I said, it was mostly guess work (I really am a beginner sewer…) Good luck playing with pattern…
