Greetings! I wanted to thank you for your kind comments on my wedding gown and to congratulate you on your recent engagement! Re-designing your mother’s wedding dress as your own is a heartwarming gesture, and I hope you’ll post the result on Burda. I’ve sewn clothes from the ground up, but have never re-designed another garment, so I’ve no advice! But I can say to start early and give yourself tons of time to get your gown right. Because as the wedding gets closer there’s too much to do and it all takes longer than you think. I was up late the night before my wedding still sewing glass beads onto the gown’s bodice, and that is not the way it should be! Get your gown done early so you can relax as much as possible to enjoy the last couple of weeks leading up to your big day. God Bless!
