You asked about the skirt for my fiesta dress-it was pretty much a full circle. I think what makes it neat is the effect the vertical stripes create. It was from the dress pattern Butterick B4919.

My dressform started out as a store mannequin (the headless, armless, cloth-covered body type)— a friend of mine grabbed a couple for free from a bridal store that was getting rid of them, and passed one on to me. The proportions were just about perfect for me, fortunately— I just had to make the measurements a bit bigger with quilt batting/duct tape/an old bra. But it’s been great!

Hi! I tried to post on your blog before, but somehow my comments don’t show up.
I live in Copenhagen and there are a lot of second hand stores there, but they might not be cheap. Second hand is hip in Copenhagen, so expensive. Anyway, you should check out the area behind Rådhuspladsen (Town hall square), just off the main shopping street Strøget. There are a lot of second hand shops there.
The biggest fabric-chain is Stof 2000, that is also one of the cheaper stores I think. You can find one close to Nørreport, in the street of the Metro entrance. You will find it!
Hope you have a fun time, Copenhagen is a wonderful city!
Have fun,
Susanne
