Hi Stacey, Thanks for commenting on my buttercup bag. I just saw you made the Estelle bag (great job) which I want to try soon too (as a larger bag) and I also see you did similar modifications too. I love customising the patterns and making a lovely organised bag! :)

Hey, I finally finished all of my travel wallets and I uploaded them into my creations if you want to take a look! Thanks so much again for that how-to! Everyone loved their wallets, and we’re going to get great use out of them in two weeks when we go on vacation!

I really enjoyed making your envelope clutch out of quilting cottons remnents. I used a beading toggle (circle with a straight stick closure designed for necklaces and bracelets) to close the wallet. I posted pictures with my profile. (But haven’t figure out yet why only one of my creations will show or how to get my embedded tags in this post to work!)

I was also inspired by your envelope idea to make a cd holder for my sister. I was mailing her a home made cd, and made little square lined envelope holder with a gathered pocket inside – like Stacey’s – that is capable of holding a set of cd’s. I made sure it fit into the cardboard cd holder I had to send it in, as I worked. Instead of interfacing between the outside and lining I sewed in recycled cardboard that happened to be from a mailing envelope sitting in our recycling box. It was pretty cute and if I were her I would really enjoy receiving it. She is not into her mp3 player much, and carrys a lot of cd’s in the car.

One difference between the pocket in my cd holder and the one in Stacey’s envelope is that I made a quite wide lined strip (actually I just seamed a piece twice as high and pressed it so the seam ran down the middle of the wrong side) then I finger pleated it all along the bottom and ran my narrow elastic through the top. I think when I try Stacey’s purse again I might see if a similar big pocket works. It might make it too thick, but I can always cut it down if that’s the case.

Thank you for the clutch purse pattern. It looks just right for taking on a date or to drop in a larger carrier. I’ll bet it will be made up in fabric to match outfits. Cordially, Nehmah

I made the wallet Sunday night, and it was super easy! But I screwed up the binding, so I’m going to wait to post a photo until I fix it. Awesome how-to, though! I’m making wallets for a group of friends I’m going to Puerto Rico with. They’re going to love them!

I added your tutorial for the travel wallet to my favorite how to’s. I am going to try and make one for my mom, because she travels a lot :) I also might make one for myself, just cuz it would be cool to have a travel wallet lol.
