Melissa founded Fehr Trade in 2005, but she began to sew in earnest from 2001. All her sewing skills are self-taught using a variety of vintage reference books and commercial sewing patterns as technical guides. Her studio space is in her floating home in Southwark, London (far, far away from her childhood home in Perry County, PA).
