thanks for the compliment on my coffee date dress- i just posted the pattern for downloading. i see you’re “working up the courage” to make a dress! if you happen to be very petite, the pattern might be a good starting dress- it’s got a zipper and a facing, so you’d learn some good skills that way, but it’s still pretty simple because it doesn’t have any sleeves or lining, and there are very few pieces and very few seams. whatever pattern you choose, i look forward to seeing a dress from you! good luck :)

I love your Charlie bag! I am a novice with the sewing machine and i’ve just completed my first one. I had trouble connecting the straps. I don’t even see where you sewed yours together. It’s beautiful. Any tips?

Thanks for your comment on my hat! I (freeform) cut out a few layers of the felt in a five petal flower shape, doing each one smaller as I came to the center. The dots/holes were made using paper punches: 1/4 in., 1/8 in. and 1/16 in hole punches. I them layed them over each other and using 4 threads on a needle, sewed through the layered petals and the button. Finally, I stitched a pin back onto the flower, so I can change it or borrow it for a different garment. This is an awesome way to use up those lovely wool scraps, I never throw any any :) Happy Sewing! I love your bags by the way.
