Hey thanks for the comments on my bird dress :-) Yeah the dress does look better with a strapless bra underneath as the back is high enough to cover it. with straps though is a bit odd as they show between the gap where the top half of the dress meets the black strap going towards the shoulders…does that make sense?! i like your cute dresses btw! :-)

haha, maybe we just need to switch brains for a bit ;) I’ve been sewing baby clothes lately, and so far so good. I think maybe my issue has something to do with the size of pattern pieces and the amount of fabric needed, I don’t like cutting out big huge things! BUT when it comes to clutches/wristlets, so little fabric is required! I suggest using fusible interfacing to stiffen up the fabric and even maybe fleece as a layer inbetween the outer and lining layers cause it makes it feel nice and hold its shape. google “buttercup bag” for a nice free pattern. the bag comes out to be much smaller than the pics suggest. (but it may be a bit bigger than you want still, so if you like the bag but want it smaller, i can explain how to shrink the pattern if youd like!) you can add a wrist strap to the side to make it a wristlet. i definitely suggest using a lobster clasp and d-ring so you can clip on and off the strap, and i like to clip my keys onto it as well sometimes. if you want some inspiration, go to Etsy and search “wristlet” or “clutch” and look through the listings. there’s a lot of cool stuff on there and you can see what materials work/look the best. if you like a specific bag i’ve made let me know and i can give you more to go off and perhaps even a pattern. OH you can also look at my itty bitty bag how-to for a quick and easy one and add a wrist strap to it like one of the ones i made. you can make it in any size too. good luck!! -krista

Thanks for your comment on my duct tape dress form. Your words of encouragement are very much appreciated, and you know what? You’re absolutely right. I’ve downloaded the Anda pattern and will soon attempt to sew my first real garment… for myself! Thanks for the kindness :)

Hi Aisling- Sorry I haven’t been back to my Burda page forever.

I do want to start a group. I posted some thoughts on my comments page. Let me know what you think.
