Did you write about your issue to the discussions forum? Or is it your computer that doesn’t allow uploading?
Mar 6, 2011, 09.09 PMby scheryka
Oh it is just my computer. Very slow and by the time it want to do something I always get “This page cannot be displayed”.
Mar 7, 2011, 01.55 PMby almatinka
I’m sorry that is happening. I guess I’ll go to your blog and see if there’s anything new or look through some of the older posts.. ;-)
Mar 7, 2011, 04.38 PMby scheryka
Yeah, I was trying to post some things made in the near past. They are on my blog. You may have already seen those things when you went to the blog before.
Mar 7, 2011, 06.56 PMby almatinka
I’ll see what I can find! ;-)
Feb 12, 2011, 06.36 PMby almatinka
Hey! You are back!!! How are you doing? You haven’t been around for a while, indeed! :-) I haven’t been sewing much either, so I can understand you so well! ;-) Looking forward to your new projects!
Feb 14, 2011, 08.06 PMby scheryka
Hi! I am fine. Just dealing with these 400 level classes! I actually have some things to post, I just haven’t had time (and the time I did have, I wanted it ALL to myself! :D). If I am not as fast, which I know I won’t be, you can go to my blog page.
Here

Well, I can understand how you feel – I remember when I was a student and it was the busiest time in my life… and you have kids too!!! ;-) I’ll try to “swing by” your blog one of these days, but I’m pretty busy now muself, so we’ll see what happens. ;-)

Hey! I am glad to see you back on here!!! :-)
Aug 29, 2010, 09.22 PMby scheryka
Yeah, kind of sorda. Actually I have been studying then I got bored and came here to see what has been sewn. I haven’t left per say. I’m just bored with the wack features and glitches till I just lose motivation to come here anymore. And thank you. What are you sewing up these days? You haven’t been buying anymore “sandbags” have you? Well, I have (snickering) Great sales. I bought some “leather” that was a great deal on Fabric.com and now I am slowly but surely wowrking on a few bags and totes to sale. Ann wants me to post her new top on here, sooooo I guess I am “back”. LOL Nice to hear from you.
Aug 29, 2010, 10.35 PMby almatinka
I haven’t had any serious glitches for a few days already, so maybe it’s back to normal. ;-) Therefore I’ll be looking forward to seeing Ann’s new top!!! :-) And… “leather”? Sounds exciting!!! ;-)
As for me… I have been sewing, but only “around the home” stuff (curtains, mending, etc.). I am expecting to finish those today or tomorrow and go back to my blue “ensemble” ;-). We’ll how that works out – I’ve had some disagreements “voiced” by my body lately (my back), so I am not particularly feeling well. On the other hand, maybe sewing will help to forget about that.
As for “sandbags” – the van’s tranny kind of killed that “habit” for now, and now our son’s car also died, so we have to loan him some money for a new-old one. Anyway, I did buy a couple of new patterns, but no fabric! :-) I was good! ;-)
Aug 30, 2010, 12.17 AMby scheryka
Oh well, I’ll see if I have as many as I used to get. (Glitches) I hope they are fixed because I really like this site a lot and have learned a lot from it. I need to get a bedroom set done myself. But I just can’t find the right fabric for it. So until I do…..
I am sorry to hear about your back. My head have been hurting lately and the neuro is booked until November! Not good. But prayer is on my side too.
As far as your “tranny” I had to replace my radiator not too long ago. Good thing the hubby is a vehicle mechanic! Now I need brakes.
I have not been good. I HAVE FABRIC! And I am trying to find any and all to sew it up in. Some things are going into my Etsy store. The rest are for me. Yay!
Well, let me stop babbling and get to perusing the projects that have been posted and then get my school work done. Boy was Momma right when she said “You must have patience”….
Aug 30, 2010, 01.43 AMby almatinka
I have fabric too – too much of it! :-) And that’s what kept me “good” in part too – saying to myself, that I need to sew with what I have more! :-)

Getting together sometime would be awesome. I don’t get much outside time since I’m a stay at home mom. :) I’m sorry I accidentally marked your comment on my wall as inappropriate instead of clicking reply. My Bad!!!
Jun 26, 2010, 11.57 PMby scheryka
That is fine. I do it all the time. I think Burda knows how to decipher a bad post or not. Getting together would be nice. I am a SAHM too. Four kids. We’ll have to plan for a day.

Hey there! I was looking at LizaJane09’s wall and noticed that you live in Simpsonville too. It’s so nice to find others who are local on here. Have a great weekend!!
Jun 20, 2010, 12.51 PMby almatinka
Hi there! How are you doing? Hope everything is fine! I was looking something up on-line that was completely unrelated, when I stumbled onto this: http://www.theoutnet.com/product/72593?cm_mmc=LinkshareUS-Custom-_-Link-Builder&siteID=J84DHJLQkR4-i5OSYJhoM3YOahsPBZv7Og Doesn’t it look very much like your last dress??? The 1977 dress?! I thought so anyway. ;-) And while I understand that 100% silk is 100% silk, but still – do you see the price on that thing?! I about fell over and said to myself: “Good thing I decided to learn to sew!!!” :-)
Jun 23, 2010, 09.15 PMby scheryka
Hey. Yes I am doing fine. Class started up again and I am trying to participate in another contest on PR. Also I have been having problems with my neck. I just looked at that dress…OMG tht is just out ragious and it does look very similar to the 77 dress! $777. Mine was so much better. And hey a little poly crepe is not too bad. ;)
How are you? Doing any sewing yet? :)
Jun 24, 2010, 02.50 PMby almatinka
I am sorry to hear about your neck, but glad to hear about the class and the contest! :-)
And yes, completely outrageous! I mean I would love to wear only real silk, etc., but I can’t afford it even at the “usual” prices, but this “Original Price $2,220 Now $777” is ridiculous! :-) And yes, yours is much better! :-)
As for me… I am about to sew. Not today as I am tired, but tomorrow. The case is I was all set to sew something, but couldn’t decide what idea out of several I had to start with. But then my dear honey bought me two fabrics I’d been keeping in my Joann’s Wish List for months (one of them finally went on sale and we used a 50% off coupon for the other) and I decided I wanted to use one of them next – I really love it and it would require bravery on my part to even wear it, not to mention sewing it! It’s a flower print chiffon and for the longest time I was shy of prints, especially flowers. But this fabric is so cute! So I am thinking to make a wrap skirt out of it and a knit top with details on it made out of the same chiffon. And since I couldn’t sleep for two hours last night thinking about that idea, I figure I better sew it soon or else I will turn into a complete zombie!!! :-)

Hi Scheryka, thanks for your nice comment on my mom’s invasion outfit. Keep well, Ana
May 28, 2010, 04.46 PMby almatinka
I also wanted to say what a cutie you have for a model there!!!
May 28, 2010, 04.55 PMby scheryka
Thank you. I really appreciate your comments. You are so sweet. Have you any progress on the suit? When is the graduation?
May 28, 2010, 08.02 PMby almatinka
You are welcome! :-) And I am not sweet! ;-) (or at least I am not according to my reputation with some people ;-)) And thank you for inquiring. The suit is almost done. I have shortened the sleeves. Unfortunately, due to having to shorten them by 2.25" I ended up with just a little tiny vent left. So I am still not done with attaching the lining to the facing of the sleeve or with sewing on the buttons – I am still thinking whether to leave the vent as it is now and just add a single button (or maybe two, if they fit) and pretend that’s how it’s supposed to be ;-) or whether I should undo some of the sleeve seam and then sew it again, but already closer to the edge of the seam allowance. The “old” seam-line would then be pressed in the way it was plus be held by all the four buttons (which then would have enough room to be placed), but would not be attached and would (hopefully – at least that’s how I envision it) “gape” just a bit to make it look like there’s a vent continuing there. Unfortunately, I was not able to make the proper vent the same length as it used to be, because the makers of the suit (properly, but still inconvenient for me ;-)) left a wide seam allowance only where the vent was, reducing it to the regular seam allowance right above it.
As for the pants… I bent a needle on my machine and broke the thread about three times before finally deciding that my machine (the Brother is supposed to do the blind-hem by “quickly increasing the stitch width for the one blind-stitch and then decreasing it to 0 for the 4-5 stitches in between) definitely didn’t like the task of blind-hemming the pants. The Kenmore is still untouched and not oiled, and I haven’t had a chance to truly figure it all out, so I couldn’t use its built-in blind stitch. Thus, I decided to hem them by hand. I didn’t trim them, but folded them up. Either because of that (and I had to shorten them by 6.5”!) or because of my lack of skill, the hand blind-hem stitch that I did bunched the outer fabric of the pants in some places and it doesn’t look very good. I’ll have to redo them, either basting first and spreading the “bunching up” fabric, or just paying more attention. Also I decided that this time I am going to actually trim them (my dear honey isn’t getting any taller, after all ;-)) and doing a proper hem.
Anyway, I know I am being quite verbose again, but those are my woes so far with his suit. ;-)
May 22, 2010, 09.01 PMby beaver
thank youfor your comment on my dress:)
May 21, 2010, 02.17 PMby stephiaffi
Thanks Sheryka for your comment on my red sweater refashion. I rarely throw away clothes these days, because everything seems to scream ‘refashion’ at me. But there’s only so much time. Sigh! I’m gonna go to pattern review now and vote for your awesome lined jacket.
May 21, 2010, 02.29 PMby scheryka
wow, thank you. There are others there that are awesome. Don’t feel bad if you vote for someone else. I mean I didn’t even vote for myself. I saw some pretty outstanding jackets there. ;)
May 20, 2010, 05.06 PMby almatinka
Hi!
I just signed up for the PR (finally! ;-)), but it’s not letting me vote for your awesome jacket – it seems I have to be a member for 3 month before I can vote or participate in contests. But from then on I definitely will vote for your awesome creations and for now I’ll just say again that I really liked the colours and fit of your jacket!
May 20, 2010, 06.48 PMby scheryka
Oh wow. I love that site a lot. It’s like I am addicted to BS and PR. It’s ok, for I didn’t even vote for myself. :O I saw some outstanding jackets going on there. I had to give my vote away to someone else. I just hope Kharma is real. ;) Did you get a chance to look at the serger? I am working on a few fits for my 6 year old. She has not a lot of summer things and tons I need to sell at the market then donate what I didn’t sale. I kept a bit for the baby to grow into. They don’t stay small for too long. Thank you for your comments on the jacket. That thing gave me pure trouble. I may try it again then I may not. Right now in the back of ALL my patterns. I don’t eve wan tot see that thing for a while. lol I have the pics of the tote bags taken. I just need the time to upload them. ..and batteries for the cam. We might go a graduation in FL the week of the 2nd of June so I want to make a simple wardrobe that will be versitile too. I think it will be the Infinity dress. I made one but it was a muslin. I have not worn it because I still need to tweak it a bit. I think I may do that and then make another one in another color. I love thet yellow one that was posted on here not too long ago. I actually bought some yellow jersey just for it. I love getting discounts on Fabric.com and you earn frequent buyer points. And their discount section is off the chain I tell you. Ok, I’ll stop right here and save some for next time. lol ;)
May 20, 2010, 08.01 PMby almatinka
I know all about that kind of addiction – I am having fits myself, when I even want to abandon BurdaStyle, because I can’t seem to be able to stop looking through and commenting on projects of other people, thus not leaving any time for anything else (well, while I’m at work, that is). And yet I can’t, because I am addicted. I’m going to try and keep the PR access to the minimum, though, because I know that I simply won’t have time for two such addictions.
Awesome that you are making new stuff for Anna! I am sure she’ll be happy!
I probably should make something for myself to wear to all the graduation functions too, but I am sure I simply won’t have time, plus to being kind of stressed lately (due to other reasons than sewing, of course). Right now I have my dear honey’s suit all “ripped up” (meaning the hems of the sleeves are taken apart for shortening) and he’s scared, so I need to work on that before anything else… ;-)
I’ve been to fabric.com before, but for some reason it didn’t seem to me the prices were that good. Maybe I looked at the wrong sections – I’ll have to go back, for I LOVE bargains!!! :-)
May 20, 2010, 08.38 PMby scheryka
Yes, go back every now and then they always have something going on. Wed web busters, something marked down everyday of the week (you can find that on the left side of the home page), the $1.95 is in the clearance section…I love that section. You really have to look. It’s like going to Marshall’s, Ross, or Burlington’s. lol But to me it’s well worth it. Some coupon codes: look on retailmenot.com for some dicounts of up to 30 percent. Some that are not listed are annv1 – annv7 and they send some out with every order too.
Whenever I log back on the site, I will send you a list of codes.
May 21, 2010, 02.52 PMby almatinka
Thank you! But I really really really (and I mean REALLY) need to work on some of the fabrics I have before I can dare buying more. ;-)
May 21, 2010, 07.48 PMby scheryka
Yes, I remember the sand bag era of fabrics. lol
May 21, 2010, 08.08 PMby almatinka
Exactly! And, unfortunately, I am not out of it yet! (Haven’t actually used a single one! :-) Where does all the time go?)
Apr 16, 2010, 07.31 PMby almatinka
Hi, there! :-)
I just commented on your new top, but… ummm… what about the jumpers? ;-) (just kidding – sewing for oneself is much better, isn’t it? :-))

Hello, I have been many days without going, reading your email I went to see the debate and have deleted everything! It will be for any issue of copyright which may have some things found in Picasa. What is needed? "I can help you?

I was only looking for it to see other responses and could not find it. I guess yes it has been deleted. Oh well. Maybe for the best. Thank you for responding.

Hi, I’m looking thru your projects, thinking they are all awesome, and wondering which one to comment on. I couldn’t think of one, so I’ll post on your wall what I’m thinking “These are amazing :) you inspire me a lot God bless”
Apr 13, 2010, 06.26 PMby scheryka
Oh wow. I’m speechless! Thanks a whole lot. You inspire me as well to keep going or sewing… (giggling) thanks!
And God bless you too. I don’t hear that often these days unless I’m at church. You have brightened my day!
Apr 13, 2010, 11.02 PMby seussian
Good to know I brightened your day :)
I try to spread Jesus around as much I can,
I’m baptist by the way :)
I looked at your blog and (this is random) you are very pretty!
You don’t happen to know anything about making tutus do you?
I got 20 yards of netting yeterday and want to try it
:) haha
God bless you and your family
Apr 13, 2010, 11.27 PMby scheryka
I am baptist as well. Thank you for the compliment. As far as tutus, I made my daughter one and it has been missing since. So, I need to practice with that and come back to the drawing board. There is one lady on here that does a great job on tutus. I’ll look her up and let you know her name.
Apr 13, 2010, 11.37 PMby scheryka
Her name is Ichigogirl. If you do a search for “tutu” I believe she is on the second page. There are lots of others but I like hers for my duaghter and plan to try it soon.

NoI am not and have been hoping there was one here. Haven’t heard of one yet. You? If not, maybe the few of us who are here can start one?
Mar 27, 2010, 10.25 AMby maatranut
Hello! I don´t sure that you´ll see my new post about print the books you download from picasa so I say here. Well no problem if you run out of ink in the printer. I got out a digital … PDF Creator, so everything picasa convert a pdf that I have on my desktop and in some backup (I would not lose anything by accident), so do not spend anything on paper. The other option click on Edit, Select All, and below you will see that there is a drawing of a folder that is exported, prick and gives you the option to save the Picasa on your desktop or wherever you want. I hope I have helped. ;)
Mar 27, 2010, 04.41 PMby scheryka
No I didn’t that you left me a post. And thank you because this is a lot of good (great) information. I will probably save on my desktop for now and later backup. I do appreciate your information. 8D
Mar 25, 2010, 01.58 AMby almatinka
Hmmmm…. I went to the competition where you entered your purse, but I can’t find out how to vote there. I am not a member there – I have to be a member to vote, don’t I?
Mar 25, 2010, 02.35 AMby scheryka
Yeah, you have to have an account. There are free accounts. (That’s the one I have.) The voting ended today though. I love my bag and now I want to make a skirt to go with it. But i won’t wear it until next fall/winter because of the fabric. And thanks for looking. 8)
Mar 25, 2010, 02.56 AMby almatinka
You are welcome! It’s a pity I looked so late – I was so sick, I wasn’t working and didn’t come near the basement, where both my computer and my sewing corner are. Next time, I hope I won’t miss something like that!
And, yes, a skirt would be very nice! What kind are you thinking? What length?
Mar 25, 2010, 04.03 AMby scheryka
I am not sure buthave been thinking of a high waist Kasia since I haven’t gotten to it yet. In the Burgandy and maybe find a way to incorporate the gold color rufflies. It would be nice if I can find some buttons that are similar to the center of teh bag for the buttons on the skirt. Just thinking right now. I might get to it sooner than later bc this is sounding very pretty! I am glad you are better now. I am suffering with these darn allergies and they only get worse from here! Zyrtec, here I come.
Mar 25, 2010, 01.00 PMby almatinka
Thank you! And I am sorry you suffer from allergies! I myself am blessed to have only a couple allergies to medications, but none to the “outside world”. My mother, though, is a victim to just about anything, so I know what you mean!
The skirt already sounds gorgeous! I am not sure I’d like a Kasia, but only due to what I think it would “do” to my tummy and… ummm… hips! :-) But the skirt is lovely and the plan you have is great – I’ll be looking forward to seeing the result!!! :-)
Mar 24, 2010, 02.23 AMby judeb
Make sure you have the whole album open so you can see all pictures and on the right is the details of how many and the overall size. At the top are 4 buttons that look gray, click on the download button that should give you 4 options, click on the download to Picasa, (it may ask if you will allow this if you are running windows), a pop up window from Picasa then asks you to download or cancel, click on download. The whole album is then added to you Picasa folders. Hope this helps. Jude
Mar 24, 2010, 03.27 AMby scheryka
Yes, I found this out. I had to download Picasa again. I am downloading now. Yes, thanks this does help. I see so many things I want to try but I don’t think life’s that long. HaHa.
Mar 24, 2010, 07.15 AMby judeb
I can only hope that I live to a ripe old age to do everything I want to, too many hobbies too much inspiration and not enough hours in a day. Ah well thats what it’s all about happy downloading and sewing. Jude

I was so tickled to see the 1977 pattern up as a choice. It brought back fond memories. I made 3 of them in different lenghts that year and wore them to death. I hope you enjoy the pattern as much as I did.

I like that one too. My daughter says it look like I’m going skating. But which ever one it will be, it’s going to be my Easter dress.

Yes, I actually bought the fabric I had in my cart but later deleted them. I was happy most of them were still there. I got like 80 something dollars worth for 49.

Hi scheryka! Thank you so much for the nice comments you left on my “S” coat! You’re always so supportive! Best, Ana
