Hello Ruthw! I replied to your question regarding my technique (my pleasure!), just in case you don’t find it there I’ll copy it below:
Yes, the idea is to leave the zigzag! It is an alternative to “normal” pleats! Depending on the print and the contrast with the colour used it will have more or less decorative power! Here are a few of my projects in which I have used this – you can compare how discreet or obvious it can get! (and the one I’m working on now uses this on bias like shown in step 8, it’s beautiful!)
