I really admire the curvy seamlines in the front bodice piece, Ellen. It is the standout bit of unexpected seaming! The colour blocking for the entire dress is also stellar. The button line tricks …

Love the top! Piping adds that blingy extra. I am jealous that you made both pieces in 5h, according to your blog post. I hardly have that kind of sewing flow for one top, let alone two separate ga…

You’ll need the glitter out as it can likely wear down your sewing thread when you have the machine in use or may soften or change shape if you have a long period of machine use and it gets hot (gl…

Like the floral print fabrics and the saturated hues in the solid fabrics too! Cannot say I have much patience-some details are worth slowing down to do. Othertimes, I have to set a project aside a…

Fun print and in stride with Pantone’s green colour for 2017 too! I can see you using the print for some Burda Style dresses with relaxed fit. Probably ideal for a maxidress pattern as well!

Great job with pockets, plackets and snaps. Thick wool-you’d have a lot of lint to clean from the feed dogs and bobbin casing. Looks marvellous.

Splendid fabric print for your project. I stopped to comment because I can only see a few Liberty cottons at a quilt store in my general area. What a joy to sew for someone else!

As a 10-year old, I was given a polyester pant suit in generally the same style as Mary’s suit in the photo. Straight leg pants. That was considered fashionable. Not sure I wore the suit often as I…

The rolled hem foot created a wonderful hem. I have yet to try using one-it’s certainly better than trying to hold down a folded hem and feeding it into the presser foot to stitch.
