Hi! I absolutely love your batwing shirt, however can’t seem to get the pattern (I don’t even have the option of printing at the copy shop, however if others do I may chalk it up as me not being tech savvy). Would you be able to email it to me or post it on my wall? Also, do you have it in a US version that can be printed on 8.5″×11″ paper?
Thanks so much, your clothes are absolutely amazing, I can’t wait to start making them!
Kindly,
Dianna

hey, you had a pair of pants in your 2009 line, would you ever think of getting the pattern ready to sell it, or do you know of any others that are similar?
Aug 12, 2010, 09.14 PMby pixelink
Hello, sorry about delay in replying. At the moment I don’t have time to prepare a download pattern, and I’m sorry I can’t think of any pattern which would be similar. In Burda Issue 7/2010 there are some really cool pants I’d love to make though "109B”, the pattern may be available to download from this site, do a search and see if you like. Good luck, PIXX

I haven’t sewn in a long time, so fear my question may be a bit dense. In any case, I am in the process of starting the Kimono tee. I am confused, because it looks like I need to put all the individual pieces together to make one big piece (ie, it appears each part of the shirt has it’s own pattern piece), but the instructions say to fold the material, right sides facing. What am I missing? Any help you can give would be great.

Hello thanks for your query. Not sure which PDF download you printed, but I posted a new one which is better for cutting and pasting together. When assembled you should have 1 main piece which is the “Front” and “Back” of the tshirt with a cutout circle for the neckline, there is no shoulder seam. This piece is then folded in half, right sides facing and stitched at the side seams under the sleeves. Hopefully this information has helped, otherwise check back with me with any more questions. GOOD LUCK.

Hi Pixe! Yes, I am really looking forward to our move to Perth, even though we will only be living there for 2.5 years (I am a scientist and have received a grant to work at the University of Western Australia until Feb ‘13). I really hope my boyfriend and I get some time to travel around Australia and hopefully also to Tasmania! Cool you are selling you stuff! Also awesome that you own a screen print caroussel! I would really like to learn how to do screen printing, but I get the impression that it can get quite messy and right now we simply don’t have the space. But it is on my wish list…I really love all the projects with prints you have here on Burdastyle (I assume you printed them yourself!), you really have an awesome taste! It is really stuff I could see myself making as well. :) Susanne

Not only creative, but clever…I’m impressed!!
Screen printing is very rewarding. When I was learning I did make a lot of mess, but I think with experience I have improved along the way. I am self taught, so it really isn’t that difficult to learn, just need practice and yes “SPACE”!
Cheers for your lovely comments, I also love your work and praise all your fine efforts as another self taught seamstress. At the moment I am teaching myself patternmaking, doing it on your own I sometimes believe you can learn more, I get very excited when a design actually works!!
Hey, I’ve just added you as a friend, strangely I thought we already were?!! ;-)

It’s a very soft low-pill poly cotton blend with a matching rib for the neckline, this fabric is great as needs no ironing. I notice you’re from Sydney, I buy from a supplier in Sydney but they only sell in bulk. I would visit Tessuti which would have some beautiful prints in soft lightweight fabrics. Again, if the ‘mitred V neck’ is too daunting, go for a scoop neckline which will always be a success. Thanks and good luck. PIX
