  Hello oby! There is a series of dvd’s that will give you pretty good instruction here at Amazon.com: You Can Make It Learn To Sew- Level 1. I am not sure that you are aware of DVD formats. Global region codes identify specific DVDs that are compatible with the players typically sold in that region. The majority of all current titles play in only one specific region unless otherwise noted.

  Most of the DVDs sold by Amazon.com are encoded for Region 1 (for standard DVDs) or Region A (for Blu-Ray DVDs) only and may not work on DVD players in other countries. You can read more here: DVD Region Encoding , so if this is an issue just search around on amazon for beginner sewing dvd’s in your format. Also, you might try youtube as they have lots of basic sewing instructional videos for free. Hope this helps and let me know how it is going or if you need anything. Keep sewing with a smile!
