Thank you sooo much for your very nice and encouraging compliment! I also happened to notice that your birthday appears to be in a few days… so happy birthday! :)

Jun 20, 2010, 01.39 PMby Natalia *
haha gladly. When are you getting back? Did you decide to come back for school in Sept?
Jun 23, 2010, 08.41 AMby bows
Yeah im coming back..but I dont know if im going to go to school anymore…after actually being a teacher here in Japan..I dont know if this is actually what I want to do for the rest of my life..we’ll see :S
maybe fashion! :)

Oh goodness. I thought you loved kids. These ones must have been horrible to change your mind. Well whatever makes you happy, thats what you should do and you definitely have a knack for fashion, so go for it. But you’d probably have to take some classes for that too.
Well hope you’re enjoying yourself. How does Tristan like the teaching?

i hit the wrong button and it marked your reply to my comment as inappropriate! i’m sorry =/ i didn’t actually think it was. and with the pattern, are the instructions in japanese? i’m assuming the construction is just a basic raglan sleeve pattern though, so i could just figure it out.
Jun 2, 2010, 01.23 AMby Natalia *
Oh no worries. I have the same issue sometimes. Sadly, I aspire to be a featured member some day simply so I can finally tell Burdastyle to change that function. Lol.
The instructions are in japanese, but its really basic. Ive never even made a raglan shirt before and I figured it out. I just followed the order of the steps -other than that, the instructions were pretty useless, to me at least.
One concern I had when making it, was how long I had to make the neck facing (the little strip of fabric where the buttonholes/buttons are) and catchannette was nice enough to help me out with that. The length is simply the length of the sweater. (I thought perhaps it was some fraction of that length, as it is for t-shirts). Hope that helps and if you have any questions, feel free to ask.

Mar 7, 2010, 07.38 PMby bows
thats so awesome! how did you finally decide on one? haha I would have no idea how to buy a new one!
Mar 7, 2010, 07.41 PMby Natalia *
well i read a ton of reviews on the janome models that were shown to me at the sewing store here in guelph and they seemed to be pretty good machines. when i went home this weekend, i called a place in toronto that sells only janome and asked them if they carried that model (the 625e) and the lady said “yea i have it, but for a similar price i have an even better model”, so my dad and i went down there and as soon as i saw/heard that machine, i was in love. : ) You’ll have to come by when i finally get it.

Thank you. I bought it yesterday, but the store sold the last in stock one just before I got there. The new ones will be coming in Monday/Tuesday but I won’t get it until next weekend when I go back to my parents house to pick it up. Im super excited. It was a crazy good deal, but still a bit too pricey for my pocketbook, so my dad helped me out. I cant wait to finally start using it. Have you made any decisions as to what you’re going to get?
Mar 7, 2010, 04.08 PMby Nina Helland Sortland
Sounds great! The wait is always boring, but you have at least made the step in buying it, so you are way ahead of me! Great when parents can help ;-). I Haven´t gotten any further on getting a new machine. Let me know if you want to recommend yours. I have to wait to next moth before I can afford it. Until then my old Pfaff just have to do :-)

Haha well now you know. Yea Ive been creeping peoples stuff for a while now (since I joined in October), just seeing what others are making. Its a great site. I am completely addicted. I think I spend more time on here than I spend actually sewing. Eek!
I have a few things I need to put up, but just haven’t gotten around to. Will do that soon.
Feb 3, 2010, 10.29 PMby bows
gah sorry i didnt mean to mark that as inappropriate!
I know im soo addicted..i think i might spend more time on here then facebook!
cant wait to see your stuff!
Feb 3, 2010, 10.43 PMby Natalia *
Haha I cant reply to it now that its marked as inappropriate. I think Ive stopped facebooking all together now. I go on it like once a day just to see whats been going on, but Ive stopped creeping people on it. Its far more interesting to creep what strangers have been sewing than what my friends have been doing with their lives. How weird is that?! Oh well. Works for me.
I will post photos when I get a chance. My sewing has come to a halt because I need to get my machine serviced and apparently once you drop it off at the place downtown, they hold it for two weeks so its going to be a while until I can do anything :(

I almost marked that one as inappropriate too! they really need to change where that button is, i think its reply everytime!
Im glad your so into sewing now!! :)
