Hey nhouse,
It’s a cool pattern, isn’t it? If you want a sheer look but also want something easy to work with, you could try a really lightweight cotton (like a cotton lawn or a cotton voile) that would be drapey but still easy to sew. Also, there are definitely some sheer fabrics that are easier to work with than others. This blouse is made out of silk chiffon, but it has a kind of gritty or nubbly texture to it that makes it easier to sew because it doesn’t slip. I’m making a dress right now out of another silk chiffon which is a slippery nightmare by comparison :) If you can get to a good fabric store, it’s worth just going and feeling a bunch of the chiffons. The ones that are less slippery will be much easier to work with. Good luck with the blouse, and make sure to post it if you make it up… I’d love to see it!
