Just noticed your post on my wall— it is Delaware, actually. Never would have guessed you were a local girl— small world!
Also, best of luck with getting your line started! (So even though you’re not going to be working here anymore, are we still going to see you around the site at all?)

Indeed, we are born on the same day (I saw you message as late as today… – and realized I became too lazy lately), you 16 years later than me (gosh, i’m getting OLD!). Your how-tos are great!

Hello Nayantara, congratulations for this site, it is wonderful!
Next week I flying to USA, I’ll like to learn quilting and patchworking, in Panama there aren’t books about it. Do you have any recommendations of books for beginners that I could by?? I’ll appreciate very much your suggestions!
thanx in advanced.

I joined about a month and a half ago and made your dolman jacket pattern into a warm oversized shrug for the cold months. It’s a little wild in a loud paisley pattern, but can wear it outside to the mailbox without it looking lilke jammies. Just wanted to let you know how versitile your pattern is. I’ve just been looking for it to make one for my sister in law—so glad to have found it again. Very easy to adjust cut for fit—-bigger, longer -whatever. :) Easiest thing I ever made—just two seams and serged around the outsides! This is a winner!!

It’s really funny – I always have an idea for something I want to make, right, so I’ll go to Google and search for a pattern – And I’m always taken off gaurd by the fact that everything sewing related is for women (mostly). But I forget that that’s true before each search. So when I joined this site I wasn’t expecting to be the only “active guy” but it does not surprize me too much I guess. Anyway – It’s really hard to find guy-related sewing information.

Will you be working on the clothing remake any more? This looks really interesting and I love the idea. I tried to send you a message, but couldn’t find your name listed…

Dolman Dress
You can’t see all the measurements on this project with the way the site lays out the photos. I checked out the comments and they’re filled with spam, but someone else also noted this problem.
I just haven’t seen any fix to it and would like to construct this dress.
Thanks, Jarren

Thank you so much for sharing. I’m a total newbie and it’s great to see some pattern-less sewing ideas. There’s something liberating and encouraging about sewing this way. Thanks again, Nayantara!
