Hi there I have the same question as sokkertenngrl. I was wondering if you gathered and oinned to elastic or set it on the machine etc. Thanks much. I’m attempting to sew for the first time in years this weekend. Having a hard time finding clothes I like at a reasonable price so I figured I’d try sewing again.

you dont need to pleat it or anything if its a typical elastic band you simply pull the elastic through the fabric with a safety pin attached to the end your pulling through to make it easy, and make sure u pin the other end to the beginning of the hole in order not to lose the elastic. then once it comes through stitch it up and it will instantly be gathered up, hope this helped you.

hey,i as well am having a little trouble on following your directions for the voluminous skirt. just wondering, if you have to pleat it, or gather it, in order to make the top of the skirt fit the waistband?

I’m so sorry that you felt obliged to change the name of your skirt pattern. I gave the Alma pattern name to a friend and she told me your pattern was not listed. Let us hope that the same generosity will be shown to you in the future. Nehmah

Hi! Thanks for the skirt pattern! I’ve been wanting to make a basic skirt, and do you know, I never even thought of using a simple rectangle! Thanks for pointing our the obvious. I’m off to find some skirt fabric…..

Thanks for the note about where the instructions are located. I’m having trouble with the ISP here. I find I’ve been flipped back to the homepage when I download. It happens about once or twice a week. The previous download of this pattern was one of those times. I lost part of the instruction sheet. Nehmah

Hey Modisten,
Why did you remove your pattern? I wanted to leave a comment because I thought your instructions were a piece of art work! I didn’t want to upset you. More of your patterns please but a bit more challenging creativelly!!! But still with your super instructions. All the best to you! X

Or, wait… I’ve realised your skirt design is perfect for my Alma dress design. Will you mind if I use it? ;-)

Thank you for the pattern! Except that you stole the name I was saving for one design of mine… :-)

Thank you for sharing your pattern. I have a granddaughter who has recently “found” skirts and dresses. You’d think no one ever wore a dress before! Congratulations on learning your pattern and sewing skills so early. I’m sure that MarmotaB is having a giggle.
