I hope nothing bad has happened that is making you move?!
Sep 25, 2011, 02.50 PMby mitmit
Hi! :-) How are you? You not using FaceBook anymore?? It’s been like forever!
No, nothing bad has happened, but I’ve come to the conclusion that my place is too big and too expensive (when you look at what state it’s in) for one person. I’m not home much, and when I’m home I would like to sew instead of always having something domestic to do.
So next place will be smaller and when I finish school and start working, I’ll hire a help to do the cleaning. :-)
Sep 25, 2011, 07.32 PMby almatinka
I’m fine, thank you! Glad to hear that you are all right too! I had to leave FaceBook, though, because it was just too much for me. :-) I mostly am at the Russian sites and I started a blog in Russian (which I was thinking of translating also into English, but kind of abandoned due to everything that had been going on here) and, of course, I wouldn’t dream about leaving BurdaStyle and all my friends here. I just need to get into sewing again after this looooong break.

Hi guys and thank you for your quick responses! :-) I have a few issues of Patrones magazines and I really love the styles! My problem is, that they only feature spanish sizes 40-44-46, I think it is. I’m very close to being a size 42, but not being able to fully understand the directions, I really have a problem. I would love to be able to down-size a size 44, because I’ve been told, that it’s easier to down take the pattern a size down than up. Is that true? :-) Thank you so much for taking your time to help me! It means a lot! :-)

How can help you Grading your pattern

Thanks i have alot of projects you can look at…lol
Jun 29, 2011, 11.08 PMby harrietbazley
It’s this one, from the German-language site: http://www.burdastyle.de/burda-style/kostenlose-schnittmuster/tunikakleider-f-s-2008-e971_pid_407_3456.html Not the pictures used to illustrate the English download, but if you look carefully they are in fact the same garments used in the other photoshoot – just presented very differently!
Jun 27, 2011, 11.56 PMby harrietbazley
The E971 Tunic pattern was a free download from the old Burda site, www.burdamode.com; I couldn’t find any trace of it on the new site when I tried to link my project back to the pattern.
As it was a free download I expect I could e-mail it to you – the pattern and instructions files come to about 1.5Mb although they would be larger when encoded as an e-mail attachment.
Jun 29, 2011, 08.45 AMby mitmit
Thank you so much, but I think I found the pdf, when I searched google. It’s a pattern with several different models, right? :-)
Jun 26, 2011, 09.31 AMby panifrau
The All-sizes trapezoid dress is a pattern from Burda easy fashion spring 2011. You can still buy it in most european countries. Many german internet shops stil sell it and shipping to denemark is not that expencive.
Jun 26, 2011, 12.13 PMby mitmit
Thanks! ;-) I’ll see if I can find it.

I am sorry to hear about the design school! What are your plans now? Will you try again later?
Feb 21, 2011, 09.37 PMby almatinka
Hey there! Glad to see you sewing!!! How are you feeling? How is your neck? Did you get the results?
Feb 21, 2011, 10.04 PMby mitmit
Hi! Sorry I forgot to post in here! :-/ Everything has been sooooo busy lately.
I got my results and my neck is perfectly fine, bone-structure-wise that is.
My ligaments on the other hands are way too long, but the only thing I can do about that, is build up the muscles around them. I truly hate fitness and everything related to it so that’ll be a blast! :-P
(I will not, even if given a million $, work out with 5o or more people around me!)
So I visit my physical therapist and do my home-exercises and hope that’ll do for now.
How are you doing? You getting any sewing done?
Btw. I made a new blog. I’d be glad if you would check it out. :-)
Feb 24, 2011, 06.01 PMby almatinka
Great to hear the news about the bones being all right. Exercise is something I have to force myself to do as well ;-P, but it’s mcuh better than what could have been wrong!
I’ll be happy to look at your blog as soon as things settle down a bit here as well – we’ve been busy and stressed lately too, as my husband quit his job (Saturday is his last day) and so we all need to adjust, but then I hope to have a lot more free “me” time to sew and read about all my friends! ;-)
Feb 3, 2011, 09.33 PMby almatinka
Either way, I am sorry you have to go through it and be terrified! I hate being sick (and I do have quite a few problems myself).
Feb 3, 2011, 10.56 PMby mitmit
I hate the wait! Have to wait approx. a week to get the results. Fingers crossed that I don’t have a disc prolapse in the upper section of my neck! Haven’t been sewing much these past few months, since I can’t really use my right arm very much or turn my head to the right. Hopefully I’ll get a muslin of some pants I adore done tomorrow, tho. :-) I think I’ll try and get some sleep. It’s 5 minutes before midnight here.
Feb 4, 2011, 12.56 PMby almatinka
I hope everything turns out to be all right!!! I wish there was something I could do!
I haven’t been doing much sewing either, partly also due to health issues, so hopefully we both will feel better soon!!!
Feb 6, 2011, 10.19 PMby mitmit
I’m sorry to hear that you’ve been sick too. You’ll be in my prayers! I’ve decided that tomorrow (having slept tonight or not) I’ll do that muslin. :-)
Feb 7, 2011, 02.37 PMby almatinka
Thank you! You’ll be in my thoughts as well!!! I really hope everything turns out fine and I am here to “talk” to, if you need it! Looking forward to your new project as well! ;-)
Feb 3, 2011, 09.32 PMby almatinka
What is terrifying? The wait? Or did you already get the results?
Oct 16, 2010, 03.49 AMby almatinka
I hope your status means something wonderful has happened in your life lately (apart from the site seemingly working again, so that we can “see” each other again! ;-)).
Oct 16, 2010, 09.18 AMby mitmit
You’re so sweet ;-)
I just had a quiet moment to think about things last night and came to the fact, that apart from not making tons of money, I’ve got everything I ever dreamed of having in my life, before even turning 30.
:-) How are you?
Oct 22, 2010, 12.57 PMby almatinka
I see… ;-) And thank you for a lovely comment!
I’ve been fine. I went on vacation for our wedding anniversary and wanted to sew a poncho to wear during the trip, but my serger wasn’t liking the faux fur much, so I decided I didn’t want to get upset right before the wonderful day and left it for later. I’ll sew it together in a few days and post some pictures. ;-)
Sep 2, 2010, 07.36 PMby silvermink
Well actually no, but i wanted to do it propperly this time to get everything just the way I wanted to. It’s coming along but there’s these ugly hangers in the bathroom that I took the liberty of removing yesterday. But they where not only screwed but also glued, so I ripped of a bit of the wall to. not goooood! But it still looked better then when they where on the wall. haha! Will have to work that out somehow.
But hey! Your appartment sounds dreeeeeeamy!
Sep 2, 2010, 10.30 PMby mitmit
Hehe. Not good ripping down pieces of wall!! :-)
How is the paiting coming along? Looks nice?
Don’t know if the new place is dreamy or not. (I’ll tell you in about a month, when I’ve moved all my things and myself in and I’ve slept there the first couple of nights.) :-D
Right now my old house is just a complete mess! I’m sitting among a million boxes and I’m still not even halfway :-P
Well, I have a minor deadline saturday at noon. Bf will come and take me back into the city. I have to look at a new sofa and the kids have a sleep-over with some friends.
I was thinking… Do you sew curtains and stuff like that yourself? I was thinking of doing so, in the same fabric as the sofa-cover, I’m gonna make.
Sep 6, 2010, 03.21 PMby mitmit
I’m planning on posting before/after pictures of my new place on facebook. You track me by my email if you want to? It’s: annaandthepinkcloud@hotmail.com
Aug 21, 2010, 01.16 PMby almatinka
Congratulations on the flat!!! I hope this time it goes much better!!! When are you moving?
Aug 22, 2010, 01.54 PMby mitmit
Thanks! :-)
I have a much better feeling about this one. Signing the contract tomorrow!! :-D
I’ve rentet the entire first floor of a house (68 sqm). 2 bedrooms and all.
Have to do some painting of floors and make some installations in the kitchen (my dishwasher eg.), but all in all I’m super-happy. It’s little things it takes to make it sooo cool. For example the bathroom. It’s brand new. It’s from last year.
My landlord lives downstairs with his wife and baby.
So life is just peachy right now. :-D
Aug 22, 2010, 03.03 PMby almatinka
That sounds great!!! Hope everything will work out!
Aug 10, 2010, 02.44 AMby almatinka
I am so happy for you about the flat!!! Are you renting or buying?
Aug 10, 2010, 07.31 AMby mitmit
Just renting. In DK it’s kinda hard to buy a flat when you’re not married/wanna live with your partner or your parents want to buy one for you.
And being a free spirit in a lot of ways, I prefer renting.
I found this gorgeous little flat on the top floor of a building (only 3 floors – it’s DK ;-) that’s high! ) It’s 60 square metres, with two balconies and has got great potential.
Aug 11, 2010, 12.41 AMby almatinka
Awesome!!!! I can understand why you prefer to rent and I know about real estate costs in Europe (my friend lives in Belgium and even though her husband has a good job, they still can’t afford to buy). It’s just that here (at least in our area) rents right now are higher than what you pay for mortgage, so I was wondering.
Aug 11, 2010, 01.00 AMby almatinka
P.S. I am sorry that it’s stressful, but any move is. I hope the time flies by and then you can start the creative process of furnishing and decorating the new apartment!!! :-)
Aug 12, 2010, 09.46 AMby mitmit
I hope so too ;-)
About the rent/mortgage thing. I’m paying way more to rent, than my parents pay to live in their house in the countryside. They bought their house in 87 when prices in DK were low and due to time passed, they’ve paid out the house a long time ago. So the only thing they’re paying now, is taxes and what they use: electricity, water, having the garbage removed aso. :-)
About the decorating. Do you know of any good sites for inspiration? I wanna make all the curtains myself. :-) Have a wonderful day!
Aug 12, 2010, 11.45 AMby almatinka
:-)
I know – my husband’s mother is in the same situation as your parents.
And no, I don’t know any such sites, unfortunately, as I don’t do home decor myself and I doubt I ever will, because both my husband and I are pretty minimalist about our home and we have different tastes – I am more of a classic person, while he likes art-deco style.
Aug 14, 2010, 12.48 PMby mitmit
:-) I love the art deco style too :-) The guy I was to rent the flat of called me last night. What an a**!! So now I’m back to square 1, looking for something else. But hey, I’ll find something bigger and better, with enough space for my sewingroom! :-)
Aug 14, 2010, 01.17 PMby almatinka
I am sorry it didn’t work out for you with that flat! But I am sure you’ll find something better!

Trying to cheer myself up! Going to my local “magazine-pusher”. Looking forward to getting home to bf and kids! <3
Jun 13, 2010, 06.56 PMby almatinka
Why are you sad? I hope nothing is seriously wrong!!! And I wish everything even remotely bad goes away and you feel happy!!!
Jun 13, 2010, 07.16 PMby mitmit
Thank you! You’re so kind! :-)
I’m sad because I had to give away my cat today. I’m never at home, so it’s not fair if she’s left to being cared for two times a day by my mum, when she goes to work/gets off from work. So I decided to let my neighbor have her. I’ll miss her always, but I’m convinced, that I’ve done what’s best for her.
Jun 13, 2010, 07.25 PMby almatinka
I am sorry to hear that! But you are right – people have to think of what is best for their pets too. We had to give away one of our cats too (a son of our “cat-couple”) – he had damaged back legs and was restricted in movements, and being around three other cats and two large (and sometimes clumsy) dogs was just not good for him. So we had to give him to our friends, who shelter abandoned and handicapped animals. I knew it was best for him, but I was so sad too! So I totally understand you and sympathize!
Jun 13, 2010, 08.21 PMby mitmit
Thank you! Nice to know that somebody can relate. The way out of the misery tonight has been baking, drawing and in a minute I’ll watch a couple of episodes of the Simpsons while having a drink of good-quality scotch whisky (I almost never drink!). Then early to bed. I send you a big cyber-hug for being such a nice person! :-)
Jun 14, 2010, 12.54 PMby almatinka
Thank you! And an e-hug to you in return!!!
May 31, 2010, 08.09 PMby almatinka
OK… Ummm… First of all, thank you for uploading the how-to on the leggings, but… I just tried to look at it and the PDF shows only the photo and the description, no instructions… Either something got messed up when you were loading it (and i know sometimes it happens on BurdaStyle) or I did something wrong… Hmmm… How are you doing, by the way? ;-)
May 31, 2010, 08.59 PMby mitmit
I’m doing great! Just ordered 4 pairs of shoes/stilettos for the summer (and bf and the kids are fine too ;-D)
Grrrr….. I knew something was gonna go wrong, when I decided to uploade the how-to! I’ve been busy baking all day, and when I finally got to sit down, my phone kept ringing as I tried uploading the instructions.
I’ll have a look at it…. now! I hate waiting myself, so ;-)
How are you doing? Did it end well with your project, shortening the sleeves?
May 31, 2010, 09.07 PMby mitmit
Just had a look. I didn’t originally post any further instructions, but I’ll see if I can find the time to write some down and post them later this week, if you want me to? :-) I have alot on my plate these days. My best friend just had major surgery, so I’m going to her place tomorrow to clean and cook, I’ve just signed up for school (business economics class), and I’m researching alot, as I’m planning to start my own business within the next year.
But I’m not complaining! I love my life!
Just two years ago I wasn’t sure, if I was ever gonna be a normal human being again, so I thank the Lord for every day I get, being alive and well!
Jun 3, 2010, 12.48 PMby almatinka
Great to hear about the new shoes (I just got three new pairs myself, so I know the feeling! – I can’t wear stilettos, though ;-)), about your studies and about your new business! (I read your “More about Mitmit” – you mush be so excited!) But I am sorry to hear about your friend having to have a surgery. I hope everything went well!!!
The shortening of the suit – both sleeves and pant legs – worked out pretty well. I know there are mistakes, but my honey said “It’s great! As for the mistakes -only you can see them!”. We are still going through the turmoils of the Graduation process (ceremonies, party, etc.), but once that’s done I AM going to sew!!! ;-)
As for the instructions – I’ll have another look in a few minutes, but want to say THANK YOU again! :-)
Jun 4, 2010, 07.47 PMby mitmit
Hehe… I think all women loves new shoes!
(Going to pick mine up tomorrow!! :-D)
Today ha been a great day. I sat down in frnt of the local pub with a cup of coffee and got tons of new inspiration!
Then I went to pick bf up from work and right after that, we went to one of the fabric-shops we have in town. I bought some fabric for the leggins-part of my younger sister’s birthday present (I’m making her a complete outfit).
Tomorrow I’ll try and set up my serger, when we get back from bbq with bf’s daughters classmates. The weather is just fantastic in Denmark right now!!
Well it’s friday, the kids are in their beds, so now it’s time for a G&T and a movie.
Have a great weekend! ;-)
Jun 5, 2010, 11.54 AMby almatinka
That’s true about the shoes. But it’s also true about clothes, so I am sure your sister would be so excited! I know I will be when I finally get time to sew! ;-)
I am glad you, guys, are having a nice time and I wish it to continue that way for you! Our days are a bit hectic right now, but with me having the next four days off and my husband on vacation I think we’ll get the house ready for the graduation party and then everything will go back to normal. I hope… ;-)
May 14, 2010, 10.32 PMby kelerabeus
hey there! sorry to hear that fabric cost that much in DK, that really sucks. It’s quite cheep on this end of Europe, here in Belgrade we have some large stores that sells Italian textiles by kilogram! Hilarious, isn’t it :) For example, fabric for this cardigan cost me less then 7€! Anyway, a friend of mine is crazy about Denmark! For some reason she thought of it as of some kind of dream land, one day we will pack her and send her to Copenhagen for the rest of her life :) Funny girl.
May 14, 2010, 04.21 PMby Jessica Thomas
I did. SORTA! I looked at clarebare.com and thought I would try my own. I traced over a pair of mine, so I would have a perfect fit…and it turned out great. Thanks for the comment though…glad you liked it. What about you!! LOVE the hat! I’ve been trying to make the whole flower thing, can’t get it right!!
May 14, 2010, 04.44 PMby mitmit
I can see, if I can find the original how-ti in the magazine, when I’m done cleaning my house later tonight (it’s 6.41 pm here) I really like the pink ones! Very feminine (something I’m trying to rehearse a bit ;-) ) and chic. I think I have some patterns for underwear hidden somewhere. Just startet sewing again aften a 6 year brake (Got divorced and then I got ill) but now I’m sorta back in business ;-)
May 3, 2010, 12.25 PMby almatinka
Ummm… I don’t know if “Electronica” might be the name of the band, but I would think the garment could be something reminiscent of the artist/band/style of their music, etc.
May 4, 2010, 09.33 AMby mitmit
Electronica is the genre, so I’m thinking maybe something like the Ostwald Helgason’s underwater orchid- dress in silk-satin, I’ve seen in Vogue. But I’m not sure. Bought the most amazing cotton-satin fabric yesterday. It’s very red with roses printed all over it. It’s ment to be for a dress I’ll wear at my cousins summer-wedding. :-)
May 6, 2010, 08.41 PMby almatinka
I am sure you’ll come up with something!!! :-) And congratulations on the new fabric!!!! It sounds gorgeous!!!! Uh-oh, now you’ve done it – now you got me wanting to go to the fabric store again!!! :-)
Mar 31, 2010, 03.26 AMby almatinka
I am glad you are doing better! As for the sunflower fabric… Maybe a halter-style top? Or is there enough for a circle skirt (sorry, I am still not good enough with imagining how much fabric is good for what garment)? In any case, it should be something fun and cheerful! :-) Maybe even a little childish.
Mar 31, 2010, 11.41 AMby mitmit
Thank you :-) The problem with the sunflower-fabric is, that I normally don’t wear a lot of color. I would like to, tho, but I always end up in grey, black or white.
I think the fabric is a little vintage-like, so maybe something a litlle old-fashioned? But what? A tiny jacket maybe? I don’t know :-) Great ideas you have, but the problem is, that I don’t think there is enough for a circle skirt.
Apr 1, 2010, 01.51 AMby almatinka
You are welcome! And I am looking forward to seeing that “real piece”!!!
As for the sunflower fabric – like I said, I am far from being an expert! ;-) So do what you can – either way it will look fun and spring-ish! :-) I am not shy of colours, but have mostly used mono-tone fabrics and barely any prints (and not many of those “tones” were bright either) – so now I am trying to put some more colour and prints into my wardrobe as well and am glad to see I am not alone in that! :-)
Mar 21, 2010, 05.31 PMby mitmit
Home again. Going to a friends’ house tonight. My voice is still missing. My Moschino-skirt-project turned out great! It’s nolonger a size EU 40 but around a 36 and fits just perfect! :-D Started on a frog-teddy-cuddly-thing for my sisters son. Have made the arms. Bf and I think that it’s oh-so-cute! :-) I’ll post a picture as soon as I’ve finished it ;-) Hope you all have had a fantastic weekend! Mine has been one of great food, great wine and great inspiration. :-)
Mar 19, 2010, 01.53 PMby mitmit
Going to bf’s for the weekend. Finally feeling a little better. Only thing missing, is my voice. I sound like I’ve eaten a frog :-S Haven’t seen bf the entire week. Miss him like crazy! Only bringing minor projects. Think we need some time together! Have a wonderful weekend! I’m planning to ;-)
Mar 15, 2010, 02.52 PMby mitmit
Home again. Feeling sorta queasy. Happy that I got to buy all sorts of fantastic fabrics (and that I got to borough some amazing how-to-papers on drawing a dress-sloper from bf’s best friend :-D ), before I got sick, so now I’ve actually got something to do, while laying on the sofa, feeling sorry for myself :-D Think I’m gonna work on a drawing of my own version, of a Dries van Noten – coat I found in a magazine earlier.
Mar 14, 2010, 09.40 AMby mitmit
OMG I feel sick! Flu started yesterday. Now Ulrik (bf)‘s sick too. So it’s not gonna be an afternoon of sewing for me, but an afternoon on the sofa, watching Formula 1, half asleep. Well maybe I’ll start making the frog-teddy-thing for my sisters son. Happy sunday, everyone!
Mar 12, 2010, 03.48 PMby almatinka
Thank you for adding me as a friend! I am sure we’ll have lots to talk about!
I am very sorry to hear about your illness, but I am glad you are over it! Can you go to that same school again now that you are better?
I will definitely appreciate the guide!!! My problem is different, though – I guess I have too much hips ‘n’ booty! :-) Plus, I am rather tall (6 feet or around 182 cm). Every pair of pantyhose, leggings, pants or jeans I see is either tall or plus, but not both! ;-) With pants and jeans it’s a bit easier – rarely, but I can find them in my size. But pantyhose and leggings – not so lucky! ;-) So, the guide will truly be appreciated!
By the way, it seems I used to have the same kind of cat (an Angora breed) as Mitmit, only his gray spot between the ears went away after he grew up and he became completely white.
Mar 12, 2010, 09.00 PMby mitmit
You’re welcome :-)
About my illness.. it was a major set-back, and a have had to face the fact, that if I’m ever gonna have some sort of carrier, it’s time to start now. Luckily I found the man of my dream and his two lovely children, sometime ago, so now that part of life is perfect! :-)
I looked at my guide/drawing. I don’t know if I can translate it, cause I’m not sure what the different measurements are called in english, but I promise you, that as soon as I get home (sunday or monday), I’ll look at it again. If I try hard enough, I’m sure it’ll eventually work out ;-)
The being-tall-part I know about. My problem used to be that I’m 177 cm’s tall and weigh 60 kg’s on a good day. (Normally 58)
I don’t really have much hip and waist, but I have a skandinavian size 70 E-F in BH.
Everytime I want to buy a jacket or a shirt, I can almost never find one, that fits over the shoulders (I’m a EU 34-36) and that I can close over the breasts. And because I’m slim/skinny and have large breasts, it’s easy to look cheap and bimbo’ish.
I actually bought Mitmit the Cat “second hand”. She was 2 1/2 years old and a wild-spirited little fur-ball, and I instantly fell deeply in love with her!
I don’t really know what breed she is. I thought maybe something like British Shorthair? But why not Angora? :-) She’s got silky fur, and it’s all over everything black ;-)
Is it true what they say about completely white cats, that they are deaf? I’m just curious :-)
Mar 13, 2010, 01.26 PMby almatinka
Ha-ha! Sorry, but you made me laugh – my bust size is also very large (don’t know exactly, since I can’t seem to find well-fitting underwear, but the last one I tried was G size and it still didn’t fit! :-)) and even though I am not skinny anywhere else either, it still poses a problem, so I know your pain! :-)
It’s interesting too that we are alike in something else – I am married to a wonderful man and we live with his two sons from the previous marriage (trying for one of our own, but it hasn’t worked yet). :-)
You don’t have to translate the guide if you are having problems with it – I am sure sooner or later I will get brave enough to make a pair of leggings and then I’ll find how to do that. You’ve been already kind enough to give me inspiration and your friendship – I’ll just ask questions if I get stuck making them, if you don’t mind… ;-)
I am not sure about all white cats, but it is true that many Angora cats are deaf. And (I don’t know if this is a fact – it was just something somebody told me, but they are not a vet or anything, so it could be not true) they say that if an Angora cat has that gray spot between the ears, then it’s not deaf, even if the spot goes away (like it did for my cat and that same person said that the spot goes away for most Angora cats that have it). Anyway, I don’t know what breed Mitmit is, but she’s definitely a beautiful lady!
Mar 15, 2010, 11.40 AMby mitmit
Sorry for the late answer, but I’ve been reeeally sick! I feeling a little better now, so… life goes on :-)
Went to a fabric-shop the other day (with bf and two kids :-D). I bought a lot af super-nice things. And very cheap too :-) The most fantastic I bought was a 1,5 m piece of cotton/polyester with Warhole-inspired faces, printed on it. It’s black, white and a very light brown. I don’t know for sure, what I’m gonna do with it, but I was thinking maybe a dress and parts of a jacket for the spring/summer.
I really hope, from the bottom of my heart, that you’ll have your baby! I know how much it means to most people, to be able to have a child of their own.
I know that the chances for me having a baby, are very small. Sometimes I’m really sad about it, but most times I just think I’m lucky I found a man, who has already got two wonderful children. It’ll never be the same, but most times, it’s good enough for me. I think, that most of me came to terms with the fact, that it’s probably not gonna happen for me, a long time ago.
The only difference in our situations are, as I can see it, that I don’t live permanently with Ulrik. I have to have my own place for a long time still, otherwise I’ll get too stressed out, and that’s not fair on the kids, him or me. :-)
About the leggins :-) I’ll try and look at how it’s done with the pdf- files, but I’m not sure, I know how to make it work.
BTW. Mitmit says thank you for the kind words :-) Right now, she’s laying in the centre of my little house, where she’s absolutely sure, that nothing can happen, without her finding it out ;-)

I am sorry you were sick – I am sick myself together with the whole family. So I can relate! :-)
I also can relate to your pain about the baby – we are not just “trying”, we have been trying for 6 years now and we know we have problems, so it’s also not very clear whether it will happen. I don’t know that I will ever be able to “come to terms” with not having my own child – both of my husband’s boys were not little when I came into their lives and… let’s just say the situation has never been easy. So I don’t plan to give up. And who knows – even if there is just a slight chance (both for you and myself), I am a great believer in hope – miracles do happen sometimes, right? :-) But I am grateful for what I have as well, even though sometimes I wish I lived separately and just were dating Bob! ;-)
Great to hear about the fabrics – I love getting good deals on fabric and patterns and in the last month got some great ones! All I need now is time to sew!!! :-)
Oh, and I am sure Mitmit is feeling like a queen! My three cats and two dogs have to constantly co-exist and find ways to share the territory. ;-)

If you really want to have a baby, then don’t ever give up! Never give up! I believe in miracles (I’m a living one myself!), but I’m not sure I want children, because I don’t think it would be fair to Ulrik, if I got sick again, and he was left alone with not two, but three children. I’m ok with the fact, that I make the best of what I have right now, and if I get pregnant, we’ll take it from there.
I’ve been extremely lucky with the kids! They are great kids, and so far there has been no real problems with me being dad’s girlfriend/not-mom.
I’m actually thinking about going to the library to get some book on child-psychology. Eventhough I’ve got to younger sisters, I don’t really know anything about young children. I just don’t wanna do anything wrong. I guess that’s my greatest worry. Can I ask, how old are Bob’s sons? Ulriks are 5 and 10.
Mitmit is THE queen ;-) She actually acts depressed and let-down, when I haven’t been at home for a couple of days. Silly cat! :-)

I haven’t given up and I won’t, so no worries there. ;-) I understand what you are going through and what your thoughts are and I think it’s a difficult but commendable choice! And I am happy for you and the kids and your relations. Our kids were already almost teenagers when I moved here (they were 11 and 8 and now they are 17 and 14), and that is a difficult age to deal with even for “real” parents, not to mention for a step-mom. I have a younger sister myself (in fact, she’s only 5 days younger than our oldest son), but she grew up with me being a part of her upbringing, whereas these boys were brought up differently and neither Bob himself nor I could change the wrong things that had already been done.
Cats are all like that! :-) Although our dogs are not much better. ;-)
