You are officially amazing! Had a look through your projects and your stuff is fab!! I am now super inspired again, been having a bit of a lull of late but looking through your stuff and reading about you on the front page has really made me feel back ‘on it’! Cant believe you only started a few years ago, i am a beginner and sometimes it feels like Im never going to get to as high a standard as the likes of you and other talented folk on here! Thanks so much for sharing x

Hi,
It’s so cool to see a fellow Wellingtonian featured! And I recognise some of your creations – my boyfriend is in the Third Year acting class at Toi, so one of his classmates wore that beautiful cabaret dress you made and another wore the Macbeth costume. Awesome work – it’s so heartening for a beginner to read that you only began sewing 2 and a half years ago!

Hi, thanks for your message :) Welly is a great place, I love it. Do you know we are having our Costume Showcase on the 17th of September, you should come along.
You can see my early work in my studio and how I have improved. I went to Wellington High School at first to do night classes in sewing, it really helped.
I will be hosting a craft night soon, you should come along if you like, the girls from class and some other friends too, we do mostly hand sewing, knitting, felting, what ever you want to bring along. Your more than welcome.

Hi, yes a few of my workmates who are sewers are coming along to the costume showcase, we’re looking forward to it. The craft night sounds great, I’m just getting into knitting as well so would love to come along and bring my latest project. My boyfriend is Guy so I’ll get him to give you my email address this coming week and you can let me know when and where it’s going to be (or just let him know the details and he can pass them on to me).

Hi and thanks for commenting on my wall. No, I would have loved to make it to the stitches and craft show but unfortunatelt due to work and family commitments I was unable to make it. I feel awful because it was only 20 minutes away and yet I know lots of people travelled from interstate! Maybe next time. P.S. I love your photos on your profile page – I’m especially envious of your sewing room!

It’s so cool that you’re studying costume! I did a fashion and clothing production certificate at TAFE but didn’t quite finish it, I’ve been thinking to try and go back :o)

haha! you’re funny :) i’m sure someday you’ll be featured member too! that dress was absolutely fabulous though! The Music Man is my favorite musical, and that dress looks so much like Marian’s pretty pink dress at the end! I love it!

Hi there Minnie! I have always meant to signup for wardrobe refashion but never have! I tend to geek out on patternmaking and fabric selection though so I’m more of a start-completely-from-scratcher than a re-fashioner of existing clothes. But definitely it’s more eco-friendly to reuse, so I really should give it a but more of a go…

Thank you!! I actually enjoyed making it because it kind of takes a bit more attention to detail than with some womens clothes.bx

The showcase was so inspiring! The standard of work was absolutely incredible. My daughter loved it too and she is very interested in doing the costuming course after she leaves school (she was keen on fashion design before but now thinks that fashion is boring and costuming looks like a lot more fun after having seen the showcase). We’re both feeling really motivated after seeing all the amazing costumes so I think I know what we’ll be doing in the school holidays. Looking forward to seeing more of your wonderful creations :-)
