Yes, I was in the regular sewing class. I’m the tall, curly haired sewer that made the hideous pants. :) I wouldn’t say that you were loud or obnoxious, I thought you were hilarious! You and your friend made amazing garments. That was my first year sewing clothes and I was totally impressed with your skills. How funny. I found your site b/c someone had favorited one of your projects. Cool stuff.

they couldn’t have been that bad!! Amber made some really terrible ones, and she sewed the pockets closed!!! which is totally funny because i have done the same thing before! are you taking any more classes at PCC?

Michelle, I think we may have been in a sewing class together her in Portland… PCC? If not, you have a doppleganger. Anyways, love your projects.

I totally think we were in a class together, however i can’t get your picture bigger!?!?! I was probably the loud and obnoxious one… or the hyper one…. or the one who couldn’t keep her hair color the same….
what class was it? i have taken a couple of pattern making classes, a draping class, a suit making class and a regular sewing class…

Hello michelle! :) I am at work and I am not long before getting the bore-out syndrom. When I have a break I look at your projects and you cured me. :)) Thank you very much! :)

Oh – I thought you are a privileged housewife who sews like a professional… now I know that you are sharing real life. :) However… you are really talented.

Just put the suit pics up! Yesterday Adam and I went to lunch, looked at a house, went to House of Vintage and found an adorable comfy chair for my studio, stuff like that. What did you do? I have a serious Burdastyle addiction. Maybe you should sign me up for that Intervention show.

Hello Michelle, If you are brought a sheer or easily stressed fabric, you might try this as an experiment. Before you set a zipper of any kind, baste or loose-stitch a strip of Seams Great (by Dritz) or a narrow (1/2 inch) strip of sheer nylon interfacing just inside the sewing line for the zipper. This will reinforce the fabric, strengthen the stitching but won’t add bulk as a twill tape would. I have done this when working with laces or very lightweight linens. Cordially, Nehmah If you have some Hug Snug rayon seam binding, this will also work but it is slightly heavier. N

I haven’t taken any more classes at PCC but I’ve did one tonight at the Portland Seamsters… it’s a studio in SE. You should check it out. pdxseamsters.com/ It’s a shared and umh, interesting space, but great instructors. We did a knits class tonight, but you can do individual lessons too. Happy Sewing!
