Hello! I’d lust like to being something to your attention. The May 2015 Flared Dress #109 instructions are very wrong. I have been struggling with this pattern for some time, because midway through the instructions they said “refer to sewing course.” I asked about this issue, and found out they were referring to some additional instructions provided in the magazine, which is not available where I live. Someone “revised” the instructions to this pattern, and now they are much worse than before. They talk about gathering separate skirt pieces when the dress is actually just princess panels with no waist seam. They also talk about sleeves and hemming the main fabric, when it actually has straps with frills and is made in a scalloped lace. Is there anything you might be able to do to either make another request for revision, or perhaps make one of your super helpful video tutorials? I have the dress partially constructed but I am very lost and confused on adding the straps with the frills and how to finish the top edge. Thanks for your concern!

Hi there Kristin! I looked into this patterns and yes it does look there are some problems, yes they refer to “skirt” pieces which there are none in the pattern. I will make this dress into a Sewing Lesson post, in the meantime I am going to send you something that should help. We can they work together to sort out the rest of the issues.

      Best,
      Meg

Hello Meg, I’m sorry to bother you, but member projects for October is much too dark – can somebody look at this issue? (you can compare the projects with the originale in the members studio). All projects has been dark since this happened the 27th of Oct.

Hello, not a problem. I know this is a big issue because the site is so visual. I have brought this issue to the technical team and we will update everyone as soon as it’s fixed. Thanks!

Hi Meg, maybe it’s a little inappropriate to post this directly on your wall but.. I would really die to see pattern #104 from the 09-2008 issue on this website! I can’t get the issue in my country anymore and this jacket is delicious! Pleeeeeaaaase? (puppy eyes)

Hello Carien! I’m so sorry but we don’t have access to any English instructions before 2009.

      Best,

      Meg

Hi Meg! I attended your pattern grading webinar, which was fabulous! Thank you! I am stuck with a grading problem and wanted to see if you had any clue on what to do? I am using the cut and spread method. I have marked my first to lined (at neckline and shoulder). I am stuck at the armscye. When I draw my vertical line perpendicular with the grainline and center back, the line falls outside the waistline. How do I tackle this?

Hey! I’m glad you enjoyed the webinar. Would you mind telling me what fitting issue you are having? Are you trying to reduce the back ease? When I know the issue I can better assist you :)

      Thanks !!

Thanks so much! I can understand the frustration of not knowing if a particular product will be suitable for one’s skill level. We will try our best to explain to our customers in future promotions what sort of sewer would benefit from particular information. Thanks again for all your support!
