Thank you for your comment! I couldn’t get the close up picture to load before work so it is a little hard to tell what it is! I’ll try it get it posted again. The jacket has a shawl collar. The scarf is made from vintage millinery netting. I cut the flowers and vines embroidery from a piece of silk fabric and then sandwiched them in between the layers of netting. I believe they call it floating. I was going to apply the embroidery to the collar and cuffs but this is so dramatic I liked it best! I’m in love with this jacket!

Hi Maya, Thank you so much for the tutorial you gave me, it is really really helpful ! Actually I tried to figure it myself this week end when I was sewing another bag, but even if it is acceptable, I went through hard times… :p Thank you, again. Nice studio by the way ! :)

Postavila sam ponovo ceo projekat. Dres for me 2, jer nisam uspela prethodni da obrisem. Pozdrav!

Hi! Thanks for tipping me off about a better bikini-pattern-maker :-)! I’ve made patterns there before, but I didn’t manage to import them to AutoCad… have you used them? I’t such a great site, I’d love to be able to use it!
Aug 26, 2009, 02.36 PMby mayadaughterofsun
Hi! I just made pattern on a piece of paper following the instructions for bikini. Eventually I made my own pattern, so I didn t sew from that pattern, nor used AutoCad. Great site, anyway, maybe I ll use it for sure for the next season:)

well, if this isn’t already your pattern, it at least fits your name: http://mayamade.blogspot.com/2008/08/lace-dreams-tutorial-for-pillow-case.html

Well one page there is about using Indian wood blocks for printing the fabric, I m speechless because I bought some of those (in Middle East), they re basicly for henna tattoo, and I was doing some experiments on fabric too. Amazing.

Hey Maya, I hope I can explain to you how sewing with a twin needle works. It’s just a little difficult to do this in written form. If you have any more questions don’t hesitate to ask. You need to use the same throat plate that you use for sewing zigzag so the 2 needles can go through. I usually wind some thread on a bobbin for the second top thread. At my machine there is a little hole where I can store the second thread. It’s probably different at your machine. Than I just feed both top threads through the machine how I usually would. Always one thread is fed through one needle. I hope this helps!
Aug 22, 2009, 12.29 AMby mayadaughterofsun
Thanks Julietta, I ll try these days and see how it works. What confused me was that I have that spare throat plate, plus few more pressing feet, so I wasn t sure. I ll cry for help if i get stuck:)

Cao Majo!

Hi, thanks for your nice comments about my bag! It was two seperate Amy butler fabrics that i cut into strips and pieced together, i did the same for both sides then added the wadding/batting and a backing fabric and quilted down the seams and attached them both and squared off the bottom to make it bigger.
