Hi Marmota! Good to hear from you :) I’m glad you like the Coffee Date Dress- I’m working on the multi-size pattern now and hope to have it ready to post within a month or so. I’m new at drafting and I don’t have that much time these days, so it might take a little while :) Happy sewing and so nice to hear from you!

Hi there! Actually I just guessed how the dropstitch work from a Japanese pattern book (I don’t read Japanese), so I hope I did it right. I just knitted the scarf in all stockinette. When I reached the last row of the scarf, I skipped the stitch every 3 stitches, that makes all the stitches in that line ‘dropped’, creating lines of dropped stitches. Then I casted off with crochet hook and in the place of the dropped stitches, I chained 3. I hope it makes sense!

hi Marmota, thanks for the compliment on my Gypsy-like blouse made out of scarves. I would say every grandma over here in Czech had these kind of scarves. And I was very happy that the size of the scarves was just big enough for the pattern. Scarves are very versatile. dík a čau! :-)

Yes, I did sew the pattern and found that the neckline didn’t lay well against my neck, but rather gaped outward. I will try it again as, othewise I liked the pattern.

Thank you for the beautiful commnt on my red dress. I am happy that people like it. I must also thank you for the “how to make your own buttons” -because up to then I used to use special plastic buttons where you cover the upper part with the fabric and with the lower you pin it. But with your suggestion I can use all those buttons that I don’t like but am not willing to throw away. Thank you again!

That is what all of us must have finally received; 61 notices in a bit over one hour. The pattern numbers are consecutive. Like hitting a key and not removing the finger fast enough, only much, much worse… I’ve been lucky enough to work around computers since the early 1960’s. Every time a programmer tweaked the software, we spent weeks redoing whatever the program’s improvement fouled up. It does look as though the Systems Analyst here is on the job and caught the error. AHA, I just figured out Marmota= marmoset. I looked at the photos above. Nehmah

Hi Marmota! I just saw in Benedickta’s Pattern Suggestions thread that you seconded my request for a long skirt! I am glad to find someone who agrees that the flowy long skirt is simply an irreplaceable item. So comfortable, and with such effortless elegance! I am so sorry yours got ripped on a plane! That happened to my favorite pair of jeans. The airlines are an absolute wardrobe hazard…..

Indeed! Who else would keep the fabric warm or return thread to its proper place as a plaything? lol, I guess some people don’t realize how the crafting world would be without cats to insure the natural chaos of things!

Thank you for writing on my wall. Your post is the first post on my wall and that made my day. Thank you!

I find it much more enjoyable to write on my website than to write about my creations here and after browsing through yours, I see you feel the same. :)

Since you are from Check Republic, we could almost communicate in the same language. Ahoj!

Sorry to hear you are “unwell” I hope by now things have settled down. So far, the headbands and I are agreeable. I have hopes for Andrea; she has a burning desire to be a fashionista. I have next to no idea what that means. Take care; I look forward to more of your work.

Pity, I have no idea what could be the problem with the blog… I never had such problem on that site. Maybe you’d better ask oonaballona, who managed to comment, about how she did it. Or simply leave out the site and e-mail (you don’t have to fill those in), I know who you are anyway. :-) “Poslat” means “Send”, i.e. “post”, I guess you got that right… Don’t hit the link next to the screenname, that is something like forgetting the screenname again or what (I never tried it.)

Hey Marmota! Need to ask you an interpretation question— I was trying to make a comment on your blog, but since I’m completely hopeless at reading Czech, I’m not sure what I did wrong. I filled out the top form with my screenname, added my email and blogsite where it said to, wrote the comment, clicked what I thought was post, and got some kind of error message. All I understood was “spam”, so I’m not sure what I needed to change. (Anyway, wanted to let you know that I did check out your blog— very cool! I love that you’re making it bilingual for dumb Americans like me. ;)
