Hi Lyndi, I was thinking of you today, and don’t think I ever thanked you for sharing your megaupload information with us. So, “Thank You” very much! If I can be of help, ask and I’ll do my best. I have a lot of the BurdaFashion downloads, some Japanese and a couple of German. Cordially, Nehmah/Emily

Hi lyndi, thanks for your awesome effort with the megaupload page, you are a legend! I favourited a whole pile of “free” patterns when I first joined with the intention of downloading as I needed them but as well all know the “free” didn’t last but thanks to you I have all the ones I previously wanted.

hi everyone, i know this post is further down but i thought i’d move it to the top so that people can see it! i did it…eventually… after spending my whole day sunday pulling my hair out & drinking copious amounts of coffee i have uploaded ALL of the free burdastyle patterns & instructions for you to download… happy sewing, love lyndi** http://www.megaupload.com/?f=2123M9OJ paste the link into your toolbar & click enter… this will bring you to a website called ‘megaupload’, it’s a site that holds large files or large amounts of files for people to download. this means i won’t have to email them to everyone separately (though if you cannot get them downloaded let me know). click on ‘sort by file name’ so they all go into alphabetical order – this makes it easier to find the pattern you need. please make use of this as the patterns only stay there for 90 days & i’m not sure if i want to spend another day like i did last sunday!!!! eeek!!!! have fun with them, happy downloading & happy sewing, love lyndi**

That’s a shame your Franzi didn’t turn out right. I don’t have many suggestions, other than making sure that you’re sewing the pieces with a 1.5cm seam allowance. Taking out the side pieces is an interesting idea – the good thing I’ve found making vests is that they can be altered fairly easily :) I’ve made a few from very large patterns, by putting them on inside out and then pinning and fitting the fabric to my body. Maybe you could do that? I guess you could take in the center back seam as well. The armholes would need readjustment. Cotton and linen would suit the vest well, or maybe chambray? I’ve seen some really light denims around also – the cotton I used was pretty good, although the black twill was on the heavy side. I had to clip and notch all the curves very closely and carefully to get the vest to sit right. Anyway, good luck and I hope it turns out ok :)

Thanks for the comment on my Franzi, lyndi! I cut it to a size 34. The sizing isn’t perfect on me either – the bust part of the vest is the wrong shape for me :( I’m not too worried about that though, because I only ever wear vests hanging open – they don’t suit me buttoned up! What problems with the sizing in particular are you having with the Franzi?

Hi! Saw you had some problems with the front facing in the tea-top. That’s the weakest part of the pattern, it’s not perfect, and the shape it should have also depends on how much it’s possible to gather the material… I think it might be easiest to wear the unfinished top, drape some cheap cotton on top of it and draft a new facing-pattern on the cotton (that’s how I made my facing-pattern). Good luck!

Hey Lyndi Thanks so much for you advice! I will sure try using it, I would like to make at least one bag, to see how it goes. Do you by any chance have or know where to get a pattern from Amy Batler of Nappy bag? I think it is very easy and I would like to try it. You made very nice bags and you are doing a great job!May be one day I will learn how to make great bags too!Good luck with your creations and keep in touch! Julia

thanks so much for the nice comment on my page. i LOVE your birthday dress! yes, that burda tunic dress was really large on me as well so I had to take the side seams in about an extra 3/4 inch on each side. it seemed to do the trick.
